After having looked at the police "abolishing" Non-Crime Hate Incidents, they are not. All they are doing is changing the rules for when they should record them.
NCHI's can still be recorded if the officer believes they are "relevant to policing for preventing or solving crime, safeguarding individuals or communities or fulfilling other statutory policing purposes".
Basically the officer just has to come up with any excuse that fits into that reasoning, which will be extremely easy because it's so purposefully vague, and they can still record it.
So essentially, absolutely nothing has changed. This entire thing was a complete pantomime.
