Anyone that thinks that this isn’t the opinion of the majority of democrats in congress and their operatives is a rube

“We have been clear since the end of the Democratic primary and said it repeatedly: we believe El-Sayed must win this race”
Odd since Third Way President James Cowan singled out Abdul explicitly to NYT on August 6 as a candidate they would be spending $15 million to oppose!
We strongly disagree with the Beacon Coalition’s endorsement of Rogers. We had no knowledge of these plans and are not funding this work. We have been clear since the end of the Democratic primary and said it repeatedly: we believe El-Sayed must win this race because Donald Trump cannot have another rubber stamp in the Senate. Third Way stands united behind our Senate Democratic nominees. A Democratic Senate majority is an essential check on Trump, and we are counting on El-Sayed to hand Mike Rogers his second defeat.

It’s not a “personal” attack to attack the political decisions of a person in office. If Newsom is making political calculations based on special interest groups or wealthy individuals that have bankrolled his career thus far, it is not a personal attack to connect the dots between those decisions and the contributions.
But you know all of that. Stop playing dumb to avoid looking like a bad person while you mislead working people into accepting the status quo. They’re tired of funding your guys’ cushy cocktail circuit.
All due respect Congressman @RoKhanna -- this entire thread started with you attacking Newsom for "shilling." Sounded kind of like a personal attack to me, rather than just focusing on the positives of the ballot initiative you support. But if you are not for going after people personally, that's good news!

No you see when Neera spends months on end trashing democrats, most recently El Sayed by implying he hates America and is a fraud, this isn’t “in fighting” it’s doing what’s needed to help Dems win. When Democrats criticize centrist avatars for billionaires it’s wrecker behavior
Maybe a little self-awareness, @neeratanden.
Look through your own feed. Throughout the Wisconsin Primary up to the election you’re trashing one candidate & we asked you to please keep it down.
I agree going after each other at certain times is bad. But may I suggest a mirror?

They are saying it out loud. Here's an excerpt from Third Way's "comeback retreat" 5 page memo, where they laid out the plan for rebuilding the Democratic party for midterms.

Ro Khanna has traveled around the country stumping for other candidates. His original tweet was pushing for California's wealth tax on billionaires, which is a HUGE midterm issue. It's not his fault Newsom is opposing it.
Lotta respect for you @rokhanna, but your desire to attack future rivals is not more important than the most important midterms of our lives. Totally awesome for you to offer your stump speech on Nov 4th.
Eyes on the prize - I beg of you.
Carville may or may not have much sway with Dems these days, but many around here claim it is delusional to believe any Democrats harbor such notions…
James Carville says he'd rather have Republicans keep control of the House than Democrats winning the chamber by 5 seats.
"I would rather the Republicans keep the House by five than the Democrats win by five, because if that happens, they’re hostage to the DSA. Like, Hakeem cannot move. There’s no place for him to go."

They are doing more to stop the Trump family corruption than we in the United States are. That’s pathetic. We should be holding this entire government accountable for its full blown corruption that is going on with this administration and this weak government all over our country.

There's a real effort from a class of very aloof, sensible economists to undermine the emerging antitrust movement. They fell over themselves to dismiss "greedflation," a theory that keeps finding validation, as hysterical populism. Egg on their faces, I guess.
When the cost of eggs spiked in 2022, economists said bird flu alone was to blame. Anyone who suspected corporate price-fixing was dismissed as a crank.
Inside the alleged egg cartel the experts said couldn’t exist.

I agree that it's absolutely outrageous. This shows how Silicon Valley billionaire oligarchs manipulate the politics of so-called "democracies".
But the problem is that when the Democrats take office, they will forget this happened and praise Zuckerberg as an ally, just like Trump.
The solution: Silicon Valley corporate monopolies like Meta, Google, and Amazon should be nationalized and turned into apolitical public utilities, as water, electricity, internet, and transportation (and finance) should be.
Or, at the very least, if they can't be nationalized, these corporate monopolies should be broken up. Separate Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Break up Google. Endorce antitrust legislation.
But the Democrats won't do any of that either. When they take power, the Trump-loving Silicon Valley CEOs of today will rebrand as loyal Democrats and cozy up to the new Democratic president. They only care about maximizing earnings and market share. Politics is a game to them.

The guy who advised Democrats to "roll over and play dead" instead of resisting Trump doesn't even want Dems to win back control of the House. Imagine that.
