More capable agents create a new infrastructure problem:
Capability ≠ Permission.
An agent being able to do something doesn't mean it should be allowed to do it.
The future of Consumer AI needs:
→ explicit permissions
→ bounded execution
→ auditable actions
→ verifiable settlement
Power needs boundaries.
The agent economy is moving past:
“Can an AI make a payment?”
The harder questions are now:
Who is the agent?
Who authorized it?
What can it spend?
What can it execute?
When does that permission expire?
Identity + permissions will become core infrastructure for Consumer AI.

Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.
