March 26, 2026, marked the 196th anniversary of the publication of the Book of Mormon. While much can be said about the book, let me summarize as one voice of many by saying, “It is true!” (I took this picture of an original edition of the Book of Mormon at the Duke University Special Collections Library when I spent almost two hours with the book.)

Prostate Cancer For those of you who know my Twitter/X Brand or what I like to call my “Twitter Ministry”, you know that I love to post Church quotes. I have been blessed with a strong desire to know everything about Church history and doctrine—-which leaves a very wide field of personal study. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As an active member, there is so much to uplift, edify, and share, all of which can bring us closer to Christ—-but let me break with my quote tradition for just a moment and share that I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Prostate Cancer. I am not sharing out of fear or despair, but in the hope that MY journey might be able to help someone else in theirs. I went into the October 2026 General Conference with the cancer diagnosis on my mind. I was looking for the teachings that would speak to my particular situation and there were SO many of them. For those of you following my Twitter/X page, you can see that I am in the process of posting one quote slide for each October 2026 Conference talk. As of this writing, I have completed the Saturday morning session of 7 talks equaling 7 slides. My ongoing goal is to pair each remaining conference talk quote with a picture that I have personally taken. In sharing I want those who follow me to understand that I know that God loves me…not just on the sunny fair weather days, but also during the cloudy, stormy days, as well. I know that some of our deepest growth comes through the tests and trials we experience in mortality—I am fully vested in being a student in THAT classroom environment of growth. I hope to use this current trial to not only increase my faith, but to also draw closer to Jesus Christ. My treatment options allowed for either surgery or radiation. After a meeting at UNC Cancer Hospital with incredible doctors and staff members, I chose the path of radiation. This plan will include two months of hormone therapy, preparation for radiation, followed by radiation treatments and four more months of hormone therapy to suppress the cancer growth. The Gospel of Jesus Christ truly can lift us and sustain us through the trials of mortality. I may have an update here or there over the next six months with regards to my cancer, but mostly my site will still be focused on sharing amazing teachings and quotes from the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
