Yes. And how exactly is that library going to know about my application/business specific SLIs? 🤔 Luckily for us, @micrometerio provides an interface for registering both metrics and spans for tracing. AND it ships with @springframework 6 and @springboot 3 by default!

Developers should not need to write @opentelemetry code, but rather get the benefit out of using libraries that are already instrumented. This will be the real game changer - telemetry by default.

Hi @springops! Are there some issues with your Artifactory repo.spring.io? Our builds are failing because spring-cloud-bindings can't be downloaded anymore. This dependency is hardcoded in the Spring Boot buildpack. See github.com/paketo-buildpacks… Thank you! 🙏
