For many individuals and families in underserved communities, access to essential surgical care remains a challenge, often leaving treatable conditions unattended for prolonged periods. Through our recent surgical outreach in Akwa Ibom State, we worked to bridge this gap, providing women and children with access to much-needed medical attention and an opportunity for improved health and well-being. Implemented in partnership with the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health and Antof Rural Resource Development Centre (ARRDEC), this intervention reflects the importance of collaboration in addressing healthcare needs and making essential services more accessible to those who need them. Every intervention is another step towards healthier individuals, stronger communities, and a future where access to quality healthcare is within everyone’s reach. #TYDFImpacts #TYDFInterventions #HealthcareAccess #CommunityHealth

Celebrated on October 5, International Teachers’ Day recognises the vital role teachers play in shaping societies, improving learning outcomes, and nurturing future generations. In Nigeria, where teachers remain central to education reform, the day also highlights the importance of investing in their skills, wellbeing and professional development. Recognising that quality education depends significantly on effective teachers, the TY Danjuma Foundation continues to invest in teacher professional development, STEM education, education leadership, curriculum delivery and other capacity-building initiatives. Through partnerships with civil society organisations, government agencies, educational institutions and development actors, over 12,000 teachers have been trained and retrained across 20 states since 2010. As we mark International Teachers’ Day 2026, the TY Danjuma Foundation celebrates the dedication, resilience and invaluable contributions of teachers across Nigeria. We remain committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen the teaching profession, improve learning outcomes, and create better opportunities for children and young people. By investing in teachers, we invest in the future of Nigeria. Happy International Teachers’ Day 2026!
