Texas hospitals are among the largest employers in their communities. Last month, Gov. @GregAbbott_TX secured nearly $12 billion in Medicaid funding that protects patients, jobs and local communities, without expanding Medicaid. gov.texas.gov/news/post/gove…
In the November 3rd Election, the future of Texas is on the ballot. For effective candidates to win, engaged voters must elect them. If you haven’t already, vote this week or on Election Day. #VoteTexas #Vote2026
Did you know Texas leads the nation in number of farms, cultivated acreage, cattle raised and cotton produced? As an entrepreneur who started a successful honey business, @natesheetsforTX is prepared to lead the nation’s most important state Agriculture Commission. #AgPolicy
This weekend, the U.S. Grand Prix @COTA will attract over 400,000 fans, including over 350,000 visitors to Texas, and generate $1B in economic activity and over $3M in state tax revenue. This podium performance is made possible by @GregAbbott_TX and leaders in the #TXLege.

October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We know that leaving an abusive relationship is the most dangerous time for a survivor. I'm proud to have worked with the Texas Council on Family Violence and Houston Crime Stoppers on legislation to ensure the criminal justice system is working on behalf of survivors.
Some of the laws I have authored and passed during my time in the legislature include:
- Enhancing penalties for violating a protective order with deadly weapon
– Providing victims access to parole information
- Requiring the denial of bail for certain felony offenses; including murder, aggravated assault, and trafficking.
– Providing the Board of Pardons and Paroles discretion in setting parole review timelines for offenses like family violence by strangulation, so that survivors don’t have to testify over and over at unnecessary parole hearings
- Prohibitions on tracking or monitoring victims as conditions of protective orders and bond
- Ensuring judges receive training on the dynamics of family violence as part of their continuing education requirements
-Safeguarding decedent’s remains from the custody of perpetrators if they are the next of kin
I look forward to continuing to listen to and advocate for survivors in the next legislative session.

Great evening in Corpus Christi with @DeniseForTexas!
Denise had an outstanding freshman session and has quickly proven herself to be a strong advocate for the people of HD 34 and the Coastal Bend.
It was great to be joined by Chairman @toddahunter, who has spent decades serving Corpus Christi and remains an important voice for this community in the Texas House.
The Coastal Bend is well represented in Austin by Rep. Villalobos and Chairman Hunter. We’re excited to be back in Corpus with the Speaker’s Strike Force during early voting and stand alongside two strong voices for this region. #OnePartyOneMission #txlege
As the 2026 Election approaches, make sure your voter registration is current by October 5th and plan to vote early (Oct. 19-30) or on the November 3rd Election Day. Together, we can throw a ringer for Texas. #VoteTexas #TexasVoters #TexasElection
As we #NeverForget911 on this 25th anniversary, we remember the leadership of @kaybaileyhutch, who worked with colleagues on both sides of the aisle in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House to restore safety, bring comfort to anxious Americans and ensure confidence in air travel.
With over 350,000 #TxTeachers, educators comprise one of the largest and most widespread professions in our state workforce. As we celebrate this Labor Day holiday, our thoughts and appreciation are with the people inspiring young Texans and powering better outcomes in #TxEd.
With over 1,000 people moving to Texas daily, Texans should not only pray for rain, but prepare for greater demand on our #water resources. Good news: @electcharles, @CodyHarrisTX and other effective lawmakers did just that in the #txlege last Session.
As we celebrate the life and honor the leadership of Tom Luce (1940-2026), we are mindful of the positive difference that he made in the worlds of law, business and public policy for the country and, in particular, for Texas. Thank you, Tom. @Texas2036
As a former golfer at TCU, @LoisKolkhorst knows a nutritious lifestyle fuels top-flight performance. Working with @LaceyHullTx in the #txlege, these exemplary lawmakers authored legislation that equips Texans to make healthier choices about their food and their futures.
Responding to high heat and record-setting electricity demand, energy expert @edhirs advised that increased capacity by wind, solar and batteries will keep Texans cool this summer, but new natural gas is needed for hard freezes and to replace aging thermal plants.
In the #TXLege, @SpeakerStraus kept the main thing the main thing: low taxes, prudent budgets and strategic investments that promote prosperity, including mobility, power, water, and a well-educated, healthy workforce. In #TexasPolitics, prioritize the possible over the perfect!
The Texas economy is over $2.9 trillion – larger than the output of Canada. Plus, our growth in 2025 outpaced the expansion of 8 of the world’s 10 largest countries, including the U.S. By any measure, Texans are grabbing prosperity by the horns. #txlege #TXEconomy #TexasBusiness
In less than 25 years, PEPFAR has saved more than 25 million lives. This living legacy reminds us that valuing human life is a policy choice and American leadership can change the world. @TheBushCenter #PublicPolicy
Even as Texans put 293 billion miles on state roads in 2024 - up 6 billion (2.1%) from 2023 - congestion increased by less than one percent in major metros, thanks to leadership by @TxDOT, @SenatorNichols, @TanParkerTX and effective legislators in the #txlege.
For over 30 years, Jane Nelson has elevated our economy, as a state Senator, budget-writer and Texas’ trade representative to the world.
As her July 17th retirement as Secretary of State nears, we share our sincere appreciation for her effective service.
