How to become a great mathematician: Step 1: Drop out of high school at 14 to become a magician for 10 years. ... Step N: Fund your bachelor’s degree in math by playing poker on ships to South America. ... Step 2N: Get a PhD at Harvard.

Attention is fate. If your attention is compromised, no amount of willpower will save you. Defend the gates of your consciousness with your life, for those gates are, in fact, your life

In America, you could mess up in spectacular fashion all your life, wake up one day at 27, speed run undergrad, go to med or law school, and you wouldn't ever be significantly out-of-place or behind. Even a totally conventional path is still possible if you start before 28.

In places other than America it starts much, much younger. That's one of the things that makes America great.

"OM—this syllable is this whole world. Its further explanation is: What was, what is, and what will be—everything is only the word OM. And whatever else there is beyond the three times, that too is only the word OM." — Mandukya Upanishad

youtu.be/NtKQdSbrykI?is=t4OO… Incredibly, I have experienced this shift towards experiencing aimlessness as freedom rather than as panic over the last few months. It’s possible. Watch this coaching if it resonates and have faith. I can’t guarantee a path that works for you specifically ofc. It’s actually a bit… unnerving atm? It’s like “wow is there really nothing I have to do that feels that urgent?” And an emerging space to “do what I want”. It’s actually remarkable how different I feel and respond to things. My gf has noticed this and pointed it out. I used to be really attached to my work or AoA being necessary and good, universally. And that I have to do it [or else]. Now my system just can’t hold opinion that strongly anymore, and I’m kinda like I mean hmmm I think this next step makes sense for me. I don’t have a strong sense of whether inner work is good for everyone, it’s kinda like “idk I guess if you want the fruits of it it’s good, let me try to share my exp and guess what it might feel like for u. We don’t have to talk abt this tho” This change came so fast that it’s actually really unsettling to feel the absence of the “rigidity” with which I held my opinions in the past, and got defensive about them. It’s so weird man

If you are uncertain about something, you want to train yourself to go INTO it, not away from it Your default response is "ahh, uncertainty, let me take a step back and contemplate this" You can instead train "i need an answer to this ASAP". You go IN towards getting real data, instead of leaning OUT to debate more on the sidelines You learn that getting the *actual* data you need asap is 100x more powerful than debating for another 6 months over something you can never know unless action is taken It is essentially re-training fear. "scared, this way". to "outcome uncertainty, run towards it".

The longer you delay building the life you actually want, the more likely you are to normalize a weaker substitute. Drift hardens into identity faster than people realize.
Lots of people use brainrot to postpone existential dread. What they often don't realize is that they are also postponing the actions that would create meaning. If your life feels unfulfilling, no amount of distraction will fix that. You can't fix emptiness with more emptiness.

Before your next sit, name one thing you’d do more of if you had the energy for it. Then during the sit, notice how much effort goes into just holding yourself together. That’s where the energy has been going, and it’s the most recoverable part of your day.

Most distraction is a small flinch from something uncomfortable, not a shortage of focus.

You have to understand. Whether you want to hear it or not. Your life is solidifying. And premature solidification is what kills dreams. Yeah it's never too late to break the concrete but damn does it harder as time goes by. So shape it how you want while it's still liquid.
