One giant leap for mankind History was made on July 20, 1969, when Apollo 11's Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first to set foot on the Moon. For more than 5 decades, the total number of moonwalkers has remained at 12. NASA will change that with Artemis IV.

It's been a topic of conversation for years (decades), but we're getting closer to having a permanent clock change to keep our extra hour of daylight skewed more toward the evening. If the bill passes the Senate, we'll likely keep year-round DST starting this year.

Latest NMME shows a very classic El Niño winter setup, with above-normal precipitation across the South/Gulf Coast (including well above-normal in Florida) and cooler temperatures thanks to increased cloudiness. Across the Northern U.S. and Canada, the forecast is warmer and drier than usual. We'll definitely have to watch for severe weather across Florida this winter with the roaring subtropical jet. Some of Florida's worst non-TC tornados have come from El Niño winters, most notably 1997-1998.

Will likely bring hostile wind shear conditions and hopefully keep us quieter to is hurricane season. The flip side though is a likely wetter, stormy winter of 2026/27.
