On October 16, 1846, the first public demonstration of ether anesthesia revolutionized surgery and changed medicine forever.
Today, we celebrate this remarkable advancement and recognize the anesthesiologists who continue to make a difference in patients' lives every day. From ensuring patient safety to providing expert care during some of life's most critical moments, your dedication is invaluable.

October Committee Chair Spotlight: Dr. Kristyn B. Ingram, MD, FASA
Currently Chair of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists Political Action Committee (TSAPAC)
The TSAPAC board endorses bipartisan candidates for Texas offices who support patient safety and physician-led care. Our board works closely with the Governmental Affairs and the Key Contact Committees to ensure good personal relationships with our elected representatives and to maintain an open dialogue on issues pertinent to anesthesiologists.
Fun Fact: "I am a part owner of Sun City Kitty, El Paso's first and only cat cafe.”

Residents, be sure to submit your application before the October 15 deadline for this unique opportunity to gain firsthand legislative experience and see how health policy takes shape at the Texas Capitol. The program runs January through April, with each selected resident joining the Governmental Affairs team in Austin for a one-month rotation.
