An exciting last week for our Mounted Unit in Ottawa!
The Canadian Mounted Operations and Networking Training (CANMOUNT) initiative brought together representatives from police agencies across Canada to train, collaborate, and share best practices. As Canada's only national multi-agency mounted policing training and coordination initiative, CANMOUNT helps ensure mounted units across Canada continue to learn, evolve, and deliver the highest standard of service to the communities they serve.
Invictus and his rider giving a farrier lesson. Always great connecting with everyone especially young inquisitive minds. #policehorse #engagement #toronto
Missing person searches are a team effort. Multiple units collaboratively join in efforts. Horses cover ground scout cars and bikes can’t. Here the drone is about to be deployed- our horses observe with calm and curiosity. #mounted
Congratulations to our entire team who represented our Mounted Unit at the Kentucky Colloquium. The team had a successful week of training that ended with a friendly competition. 1st overall equitation/obstacles went to Sgt.Cooper & Gordon. We are so proud of you & the entire team

Meet Rudy! 🐴
Our Mounted Unit horse all the way from Texas! With previous policing experience, Rudy is settling into life in Toronto and geared up to help keep our communities safe alongside our Mounted Unit officers.

Proud to see our Mounted Unit representing the Toronto Police Service at one of Canada’s most historic sporting traditions.
It was an honour for our members to escort the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario at this year’s King’s Plate.
A proud tradition at the King’s Plate!
Our @TPSMounted Unit had the honour of escorting the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario at the 167th running of the King’s Plate. 🐎👑
It’s amazing to be a part of the longest running -biggest stakes-horse race for decades. 167th this year and the event has always seen many of our wonderful police horses.

Phantom, Chief & the Roger’s Centre- 3 Toronto icons🐴🏙️ Every downtown patrol is also a training session. Construction, streetcars, traffic, crowds & meeting the public all help build confident horses, so when they’re called to manage large events, they can focus on the job🐴
Their expertise is crowd management, supporting the officers & public on the ground when assistance is required. They are also incredible ambassadors for the @TorontoPolice & the city.People are drawn to them & our officers enjoy sparking up meaningful conversations #connection

Over the past 39 days, our city welcomed the world. Behind every match and celebration were Toronto Police members, alongside policing and community partners, working to help keep everyone safe.
To every member and partner who supported these operations—thank you for your professionalism, teamwork, and dedication.
While the tournament wraps up, our work continues. Officers will once again be out today in and around the FIFA Fan FestivalTM Toronto and across the city to help everyone celebrate safely.

Saunders and Ogichidaa are in @TPS33Div tonight supporting their detectives with a missing person search. Our horses cover a lot of ground quite quickly and can access areas our scout cars and bicycles cannot. #teamwork #mounted @TorontoPolice
