I had the pleasure of congratulating Sgt. Winston Laroche on reaching an incredible 50 years of service. A remarkable milestone for someone who has been a true leader in our policing community. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement on behalf of all of us at the TPA! #TPAProud

Undeniable heroics.
The SIU report confirms the extraordinary actions of our ETF members on June 11, 2026, who put themselves in harm's way to protect their team and the community, even as they lost one of their own.

Visiting our members is the best way we can stay up to date on what's impacting their work, their wellness, and their families.
This week, we visited @TPS32Div and @TPS33Div and discussed Project Resolute, the municipal election, recruitment and retention, and response times.Â
Our members do their best to serve Toronto's communities with pride and professionalism.
We are proud to represent them, and we will always have their back.

Thank you, Premier @fordnation, for encouraging the Prime Minister to make what we agree are necessary changes to help ensure police officers across Canada are protected.
You are correct that the evidence of violence against police is mounting day after day.
In 2026 alone, over 700 of our members have been injured on duty. This includes those who were physically assaulted, bitten, spat on, shot at, stabbed, and even been targets of attempted murder by youth using a vehicle.
Tragically, for Constable Marc Pinizzotto, those serious threats were not merely attempted. He was murdered while executing a high-risk search warrant.
Our roughly 9,000 dedicated members know all too well what it means to serve and protect without hesitation, despite the very real risks they face.
It's time police officers nationwide receive the protection they deserve for putting their lives on the line for others.

Exceptional work from our members, whose proactive and diligent efforts uncovered a previously unidentified firearm trafficking network.
This operation reflects a relentless commitment to keeping Toronto safe. Successes like these make a real difference in our communities and demonstrate the impact of dedicated police work. #TPAProud

Things we like to see: the House of Commons discussing parole reform.
Â
This is a priority for us, our members and the families we work with.
Â
It doesn't matter who delivers these changes. @FrankCaputoKTN, @ArpanKhanna, @rubysahotalib, @gary_srp, we just need change. Now.
Â
Everyone's focus should be on prioritizing legislation that respects victims, including the families of slain police officers.

"'We’re talking about a guy who walked over, put the gun to my brother’s head, and pulled the goddamn trigger,' said Cory Baylis."
Â
That's the memory the Baylis family, relatives of Constable Todd Baylis, who died in the line of duty, have to relive over and over again at repeated parole hearings.
Â
We stand with everyone who is repeatedly victimized and re-traumatized by Canada's current parole system. The Baylis family, the French family, the Mahaffy family and so many others.
Â
It's why we've sent letters to Secretary of State @rubysahotalib to demand change. Victims and their loved ones must come first, rather than the serious offenders who have no remorse for their crimes.

Thank you, Mayor Chow, for meeting with us again, and for your commitment to our members and the Toronto Police Association.
Mayor Chow has consistently been there for us during @TPACampbell's term as President. From welcoming new recruits at Police College graduations, to standing with us on some of our hardest days, she has shown deep respect for the service our members give to this city.
Mayor Chow’s commitment to listening to our members about their safety and wellbeing, and her support of the Multi-year Hiring Plan, will be instrumental in creating a safer Toronto for everyone. The Multi-year Hiring Plan improves public safety, lowers Priority 1 response times, reduces 911 call times, and improves safety and working conditions for frontline members and the public.
We also appreciate that she is the only mayoral candidate to engage and consult with the TPA through this election. We look forward to continuing our positive relationship and working on the critical safety issues facing our city.
Here’s what Mayor Chow has committed to us, our members, and the people of Toronto, if re-elected:
1. Continue with the Multi-year Hiring Plan she introduced as part of her 2025 budget to address staffing challenges, hiring 360 officers (max. amount) annually
2. Reaffirmed commitment to adequate funding, in partnership with other levels of government, for sufficient police presence at special events to assure public safety
3. Continuing to support TPS members in their everyday work protecting the city

The Toronto Police Association sends our thoughts to the @BLVLPolice and the Jewish community following last night's atrocious attack at the Sons of Jacob Synagogue.
Â
We have connected with the President of the @BLVLPoliceAssoc to offer our full support after one of their members was shot while courageously putting their life on the line to protect this place of worship and the innocent individuals inside.
Â
Such bravery does not go unnoticed. We wish the injured officer a full recovery and extend our support to their family and colleagues impacted by this tragic incident.
Â
Everyone has the right to gather, worship and celebrate their religion safely and in peace. As communities come together during the holiday season, this principle cannot be overstated.
Â
The increasing number of attacks against Jewish communities, motivated by hatred and violence, is disgusting and unacceptable.
Â
Our members in Toronto continue to step up to help create safe environments, not only to reassure the public but to deter criminal acts and respond swiftly when incidents occur.
Â
We are proud of our members and police members across the province who continue to put their lives on the line. Protecting the public, regardless of religion or background, continues to be a top priority.
