On Dolly Parton Day, Tennessee honors the life and legacy of one of its greatest champions. 🩷✨
Dolly’s impact on Tennessee reaches far beyond her music. Through Dollywood, the Imagination Library and countless acts of generosity, she invested in our communities, created opportunities and inspired generations. Her love for her home state will remain one of her greatest gifts.
As Tennessee mourns Dolly’s passing, we are grateful for the lasting mark she leaves behind, a mark rooted in opportunity, compassion, creativity and service. The good she poured into Tennessee will continue to resonate for generations to come. 👏

Today, nine education and employer partnerships from across Tennessee began their Tennessee Pathways Incubator journey as part of SCORE’s Future Forward Innovation Grant. Over the next year, they’ll design pathways that connect students to in-demand careers and greater economic opportunity.
At our first convening, SCORE President and CEO @davemansouri led a conversation with leaders who brought state, business, and local perspectives: @westonwamp, Mayor of @HamCoTNGov;
@CommishTNECD, Deputy Governor and Commissioner of the @TNECD; and Josh Brown, President and CEO of the @TNChamber.
Together with our fellows, they explored what employers need, how education and industry can build lasting partnerships, and how local pathways can help more Tennesseans access opportunity.
We’re grateful to these leaders for sharing their perspectives and helping our 2026 cohort begin the year with a clearer view of the opportunities ahead.

Chester, Cumberland and Putnam Counties have been selected to participate in a new round of the Select Tennessee Property Evaluation Program. 🌾
“The Property Evaluation Program marks the first step of our crucial site development program, which is essential to the economic development success we have experienced,” said Deputy Gov. and TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter.

Strong communities need strong economic development talent. 💪
The second cohort of the Tennessee Rural Fellowship Program is now serving rural communities across the state. Through the program, TNECD and @tennesseetech's Center for Rural Innovation place recent graduates in rural communities for two years to help advance projects related to economic development, housing, tourism, infrastructure and more.
The program is strengthening communities today while building Tennessee’s next generation of economic developers.

It was an honor to meet with U.S. Ambassador to Iceland Billy Long and staff from @usembreykjavik this week to discuss opportunities to strengthen partnerships between Tennessee and the Land of Fire and Ice.
We were thrilled to help kick off nonstop air service between Nashville and Reykjavík through @Icelandair last year, and our team always appreciates the opportunity to build on the strong relationship between Tennessee and Iceland.
The State of Tennessee, the United Kingdom and @TVAnews announced a new partnership to accelerate fusion energy development, a potential source of reliable, abundant power. 🎉
Both regions are early leaders in building the foundation needed to bring fusion plants online. The collaboration will advance regulation, licensing, safety frameworks, supply chains, workforce development, research and technical exchanges, building on @typeoneenergy's Project Infinity and the U.K. Infinity Fusion Consortium.

ArtiCast Jackson is bringing its first Tennessee operation to the region, creating 100 new jobs and investing more than $10 million.
The aerospace, defense and automotive components manufacturer, part of Michigan-based ArtiFlex Manufacturing, will transform the former Pace Industries facility in Jackson into its newest home.
