Chorbagan Sarbojanin Puja Committee 2026 – One of the Six Major Flaws: First mistake: Here the idol of Goddess Durga has no weapons in her hands. Yet the scriptures call her “Dashapraharanadharini” — which means “She who can strike with weapons in all ten directions.” Second mistake: Weapons have been placed in the hands of the Asura, and two lions are sitting beside him. They are not attacking; instead, it appears as if they are protecting the Asura from both sides. Third mistake: The Asura’s idol has been placed directly and straight in front of the Goddess’s platform. According to the scriptures, that place belongs to Bhairava (a form of Mahadev) or the Mangal Ghat. Fourth mistake: Before the puja, according to the scriptures, Khunti Puja should be performed only once. Doing it a second time is considered a flaw. But here Khunti Puja was performed a second time. Fifth flaw: Along with the theme idol, a small traditionally made Durga idol is worshipped according to the scriptures. But here no small traditionally made idol has been placed. Sixth mistake: Two days after Mahalaya, i.e., on Tritiya, a crack appeared on the neck of the idol. Neither the committee nor the artist paid any attention to this matter; rather, they ignored it. The Devi Purana, Chandi Purana, Vedas and Upanishads consider a broken or cracked idol as defective, and worship of such an idol is completely forbidden. Despite so many mistakes, if the committee and the artist continue to ignore their own faults, then ordinary devotees should refrain from visiting such a flawed and incomplete pandal. And if anyone thinks that the issue of the crack on the neck is mere superstition, then I would say — where there is no devotion, respect or faith in Mother Durga, participating in Durga Puja is nothing but a luxury for them.
