In amongst the strike action, the NEU is holding national elections. I have announced my intention to stand as Post-16 national executive member.
I will be a voice for members in all colleges.
Please attend your district meetings and ask them to back my nomination.
Hi to all my followers 👋 - I’m clocking off X. The account will remain open but I won’t be posting anything here. Find me on Blue Sky instead!
I rated Gladiator (2000) 9/10 #IMDb “Father to a murdered son. Husband to a murdered wife.” Epic and looks great in 4K. The star of the show is Hans Zimmer’s score. imdb.com/title/tt0172495
I rated Caligula: The Ultimate Cut (2023) 8/10 #IMDb ‘The most controversial film ever made’ is shocking, disgusting and depraved and I don’t recommend it to anyone. This new version is great though. McDowell and O’Toole are both excellent and revolting imdb.com/title/tt29703523
I rated Blitz (2024) 6/10 #IMDb Maybe there’s a reason why so few films focus solely on the Blitz. Steve McQueen’s effort looks good but has little story or feeling. It goes a bit Oliver Twist when Stephen Graham and Kathy Burke turn up imdb.com/title/tt15939198
I rated Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019) 5/10 #IMDb Re-assessment. Abrams retcons The Last Jedi with more fan service and lots of half-baked ideas. The gang have to get the dagger that finds the thing that finds the thing… Poor. imdb.com/title/tt2527338
The TLMaths A-Level Maths Textbook is now BACK IN STOCK! sites.google.com/view/tlmath… @dani_hosford
I rated Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) 8/10 #IMDb Re-assessment. I really enjoyed this the 2nd time round - it tries something different and new unlike the previous entry. Visually stunning and I enjoyed the comedic elements. imdb.com/title/tt2527336

This book is truly something special and has been designed by a team who clearly know what they are doing! Not only are the questions and sequencing beautiful so is the formatting! I have however spotted a small typo on page 176 question 2. But who cares?! It’s epic!
I rated Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) 6/10 #IMDb Re-assessment. It looks excellent but there’s just too much fan service - The plot jumbles together lots of best bits from the original trilogy. Daisy Ridley is naff imdb.com/title/tt2488496
I rated The End We Start From (2023) 5/10 #IMDb Jodie Comer must look after her newborn child after London is submerged and England descends into chaos. In the style of so many of these movies, there’s too little money to give it any sense of scale. imdb.com/title/tt21810682
I rated Somewhere in Time (1980) 8/10 #IMDb There’s no wonder why this Richard Matheson-penned romantic time travel movie feels like an extended Twilight Zone episode. Christopher Reeve is extremely charming. imdb.com/title/tt0081534
Showmasters oversold Ncuti Gatwa photoshoot by a mile. Very poor organisation. #LCCWinter

We were pleased to hear minister @Jacqui_Smith1 confirm today that she supports extending the fully-funded 5.5% pay rise to all teachers in sixth form colleges. The Government must now make this right. Read more👇

We have written to Secretary of State Bridget Phillipson, seeking urgent confirmation to make sure that the recent additional funding awarded to further education is allocated for staff pay in non-academised sixth-form colleges.
