Aditya is father of a 4.6 year old girl child. His daughter was taken away yesterday evening after 6pm by ASI Sitaram Lamani of Adarsh Nagar Police station @VIJAYAPURPOLICE on pretext of producing the child before court in Belgaum on court orders
We saw the orders & child had to be produced on 17 JULY before 5pm and not 12:30am in the night on 16 July i.e tonight.
Child was taken without anyone known to her being there in a private vehicle which was being driven by a shirtless driver with 4 cops sitting
Father claims he was not given any prior notice. Sir, this whole exercise is deeply disturbing and must have been traumatic for the child. Mother had not filed any custody case and child was being taken care by father & his family for last two years. Now he's being treated like a criminal not allowed to even touch his daughter or speak to her
I request your kind intervention as to why it was so urgent to pick such a small child at night when the order by the court nowhere mentioned so and on whose orders was this done sir. Hope you will look into this.

Kentucky’s Divorce Rate Falls After Equal Custody Law, But Critics Warn of Risks
When Kentucky became the first U.S. state in 2018 to make 50-50 shared custody the default in divorces and separations, it was celebrated as groundbreaking. For decades, fathers had voiced the same frustration: being reduced to “every-other-weekend” parents while mothers carried the bulk of caregiving. This law promised a reset.
And the numbers seemed to back it up.
📉 Between 2016 and 2023, Kentucky’s divorce rate fell by 25%, compared to an 18% nationwide drop (National Center for Family & Marriage Research, Bowling Green State University).
It didn’t take long before other states started studying Kentucky’s experiment.
India remains trapped in a system that almost completely sidelines fathers. Here, custody battles are rarely about balance — they are about survival.
Under existing laws, custody of young children almost automatically goes to the mother, with fathers left to fight for visitation rights that are often symbolic at best. In many cases, the “right” amounts to one or two hours a week, sometimes inside court premises, under supervision. For a father, that isn’t parenting. It’s being treated as a guest in your child’s life.
The irony is painful: while the conversation abroad is about whether equal custody can reduce conflict, in India the baseline is still token access.
