This afternoon we have enjoyed decorating Easter eggs and making baskets. We have also enjoyed Yogo, lots of crafts, a film, popcorn and a drink.
What a fantastic RE day we had in Year 2. We learned all about Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The children loved finding out how and why it is important to care for living things in our world.
Year 2 had a lovely Yo-yo assembly and workshop learning all about the Easter and the Easter story. ✝️🐣🐑🐰🥚
World Book Day in Year 2! We are having a lovely morning so far. Woodpeckers you look amazing! 📖📚🪽✨🤩
Woodpeckers had a Mossy frog invasion. Inspired by the book ‘Tuesday’ the children arrive at school to find our class covered with lily pads, frogspawn and slime. We predicted that the frogs followed us back from Askham Bryan Wildlife park. We also made warning posters today.
What a fantastic day we had at Askham Bryan Wildlife Park. We explored Animal habitats and adaptations and also the brilliant wildlife park itself. 🐍🐒🐸🐠🐢🦎🦜🦉
Year 2 have been using their super art skills to create their own William Dargie inspired self portrait.
Woodpeckers have been celebrating safer internet day this morning. We looked at a PowerPoint and watched a video clip all about scams and what to do if we see one. #SaferInternetDay2025
More number fun in Woodpeckers. Number songs. #NSPCCNUMBERDAY
Number day fun in Year 2! We are completing these super activities; crack the code, secret subtraction, getting home by counting in 2s, 3s and 5s, roll and count monster bots, counting in 5s flower petals, save the bees by finding multiples of 2s, 5s and 10s and secret sums.
Year 2 have been learning all about portraits. We have looked at two different artists - Andy Warhol and William Dargie. We practised our own portrait skills and techniques following a step by step video. They did amazing. We cannot wait to see more.
Year 2 have been learning another tricky maths concept today. Subtracting 2 2 digit numbers crossing a 10. They remember to make an exchange by asking their neighbour. “Hello neighbour, can I exchange 1 ten for 10 ones.”
