( his eyes glint , pupils narrowing into snake-like slits as they lift to look at the sinner once again . )
There is no trickery . I made a deal with my Father .
(He says it so easily like he didn't just say he struck a bargain with God* himself ! There's pride in his smile .)
( the sentiment alone means more to Lucifer than he'll ever show thanks to his Pride .
Excitement flickers through his Hellfire gaze , despite the topic being about becoming a host to a deteriorating corruption . Is this why sinners make deals ?
Don't get him wrong , [...]
God lets Lucifer take his hand. The grip is warm but shaking—like a fault line learning how to hold. Black-red filaments pulse under his skin, climbing his wrist in thin, living branches. He doesn’t pull away.
❝𝘕𝘰❞
He says first—soft, but it lands like a bell.
❝𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮 𝘐 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘯❞
He draws a breath that judders through his ribs. The gold hue in his eyes gutters, then steadies.
❝𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱..𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵— 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦. 𝘌𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘙𝘰𝘰 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦..❞
He shifts, pain cracking through his frame like ice. Even so, he lifts their hands to his brow—an old benediction, a father’s vow.
❝𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯, 𝘮𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳..❞
[...] debt for saving the world from evil - surely that had to mean something ? For him ? For Charlie or Lilith ?
Well , so long as his Father doesnt betray his trust - )
I will buy you time .
(He states with clarity . )
But my Health will be on the line , as will [...]
( subconsciously , Lucifer lifts his coat to his nose and gives a sniff .
If Alastor can smell it so easily , who else can ? Could it possibly put him in danger ? Or worse , could it put Charlie in danger ? )
Not necessarily . . . It's part of a sickness , not the whole [...]
( His smile falters , brows scrunching . )
Isn't that a little contradictory ? A corpse IS a dead body , so how can it be dying ?
( He asks but clears his throat when Alastor gives him a look . More sweat beads on pale skin .
A shiver rolls up his spine , dragging cold [...]
( Lucifer , holed up his room as he has been since his Father had left , stiffens when the shadows of the sinner slides across his duck-riddled floor .
He turns away immediately , sweat slipping down his forehead . Catching it with a handkerchief and slipping a smile [...]
( the call was unexpected and to say Lucifer was surprised was an understatement . Nearly dropping his phone in his haste , he poofs back to his duck filled room and all but slams the answer button .
Its at this time that he trips over his pile of rubber feathered friends [...]
