Both Dorothy Dunnet series are absolute masterpieces. Amazingly researched, complex and mind-expanding, beautifully written, intensely romantic, and with some of the best female characters ever conceived. Pawn in Frankincense, in particular, is heart wrenching. That said, not everyone is intelligent enough to appreciate these complex masterpieces, and until your mind is captured, the reading can be difficult. If you’re uneducated and unwilling to learn, don’t bother to try.

Trump's not perfect.
RINO's are far from perfect.
But Democrats would turn America into France.

If anyone lives near Huntsville and likes Cracker Barrel, go to the one in Madison and request Sharon as your waitress. She’s the best. I stop in once a week for a light breakfast and she brings me a giant mug of black coffee, refills without asking, and knows my order like the back of her hand. Best of all, she gives me a hug anytime I come in. Tell her I sent ya.
Preach.
The equality worth fighting for is equality before the law, not equality of outcomes.
It means no one is born with the right to rule another, and no one is born obligated to serve another.
It protects your freedom to differ in ambition, ability, wealth, and achievement without granting anyone superior rights or claims upon your life and property.
And it protects you from being forced to finance the government's preferred conception of equality.
True political equality protects everyone's equal rights, including the right to be unequal in every other respect.

Islam has colonized 57 countries, massacared, genocided, committed jihad against 57 nations to conquer them so far, has relegated women to a second class status in its gender apartheid ideology for 1400 years, systematically treating us as half humans, has enslaved up to 18 million Africans and 4 million non-Americans, legalized child marriage for 1400 years as a result of which millions of little girls as young as 6 are in legal marriages to the men who own them, legalized dhimmitude to force non-Muslims to live under a second class status as well, has been colonizing the west for the past half century or so quiet violently and vehemently, but how dare we call it out as a problem, right? Let’s blame the whitey because his white guilt will do the rest of the work for you, right? Maybe they’ll even give you a nuclear bomb so you can do the one thing you haven’t done yet because you don’t have the brain cells to have the technology, right? Right!

Marine Le Pen:
“French Muslims who are considering leaving France if I am elected are wrong. This is their country, and they are French.”
Even as a Japanese person, I was deeply disappointed by this statement.
Who on earth can restore France?
Note: Image is a reconstruction.

No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6
If someone breaks into my home they will die.
My lifelong support for draconian gun control laws was weakened during the 2020 riots when, watching helicopter footage of mobs roaming freely through Philly neighborhoods and attempting to enter homes, a journalist reported that homeowners had told him that when they called police begging for protection they were told that law enforcement personnel were overwhelmed and homeowners were "on their own."

I am from a city called Jerash, today it is insignificant, a forgotten, decaying place.
But once, it was great. It was Jarasa, a thriving city of the Greco-Roman world, a beacon of culture, knowledge, and civilization.
Then, Islam arrived.
My ancestors were forced to convert, their heritage erased, and their land stripped of its brilliance.
What was once a center of civilization became a ruin, another casualty of Islam’s relentless march.
This wasn’t just Jerash. It was Lebanon. It was Syria. It was Iraq. It was Egypt. These lands weren’t always the Islamic backwaters they are today.
They were hubs of knowledge, trade, philosophy, and empire.
Then Islam came.
It deformed them, crushed their identities, and plunged them into centuries of regression.
Egypt, the land of the Pharaohs, of towering pyramids, of an empire that shaped history, was swallowed by an ideology that replaced its greatness with religious stagnation.
Islam was the greatest colonial project in history.
It expanded by force, erasing entire civilizations and replacing them with submission to an Arab warlord from the 7th century.
And yet, the stupid Western left, the so-called defenders of “decolonization,” bend over backward to give Islam a pass.
They scream about colonialism when it comes to the West but ignore the Islamic colonization of entire peoples, cultures, and lands.
They want to hand the West over to the very force that already destroyed the East.

Christians in the West who refuse to actively defend Western civilization, and justify their inaction biblically, are committing a horrible sin.
Jesus said, “If someone takes your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either” (Luke 6:29–30).
Does that mean that, according to Jesus, if your brother, for example, took your inheritance, you should give him more and not demand back what belongs to you?
Of course not.
When a man whose brother had taken his inheritance came to Jesus and asked Him to intervene, Jesus said, “Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?” (Luke 12:13–14).
Jesus refused to become the civil judge in that dispute. He implied that the man could seek justice through the ordinary civil authorities and positive law.
The same applies to “turn the other cheek” (Matthew 5:39) and “love your enemies” (Matthew 5:44).
These should never be excuses not to defend your civilization against evil.
Imagine someone setting the most beautiful house in the neighborhood on fire. Would you remain silent and do nothing? Of course not.
Why, then, would you remain silent while Western civilization, the most beautiful civilization in history, is being set on fire by hostile, anti-God ideologies?
It is a Christian duty to defend Western civilization against the left and Islam.
If you are silent, then examine whether you are in the faith, because according to Ezekiel 3:18, when the watchman fails to move against the wicked, God holds him accountable for his silence.
I believe in religious freedom for true religions, but Islam should be banned in the West; it is a conquering, totalitarian political movement wrapped in a veneer of religion to dupe the West into complacency.
I believe religious liberty is one of America’s most important principles. I say that as a Christian who believes there is a jurisdictional boundary around the human conscience that no government has the right to cross.
I oppose religious coercion whether it comes from Islam, integralism, or Christian nationalism.
My concern about Sharia is its enforcement as a system of government. When religious doctrine becomes compulsory civil law—when it determines who enjoys full citizenship, restricts women’s rights, punishes people for leaving their religion, or subordinates nonbelievers—it’s coercive. And incompatible with a constitutional republic committed to religious liberty and equal citizenship.
Islamic authority demands subjugation and you cannot dismiss religious domination as an imaginary concern. Calling those demands religious does not place them beyond criticism.
Sharia is a political system. As such it’s a threat to religious liberty.
And this is the most complicated and challenging piece of how we’re going to go forward as a society in a constitutional republic.

The Catholic Church is making the same mistake Bibi Netanyahu made.
Bibi rightly realized that giving the Palestinians a state could be suicidal for the State of Israel, so he looked the other way while Qatar funded and empowered Hamas.
He seems to have believed that Hamas’s ugly face would make the case against Palestinian statehood for him, while Israel would still be able to contain Hamas and prevent the damage from spilling into Israel.
The result was multiple wars, including October 7, followed by a global campaign against Israel after October 7, which also became a vehicle for the Islamo-leftist war against the West.
The Catholic Church is making the same mistake.
The Church has been weakened in Europe and has become increasingly irrelevant.
European society has become largely secular, and the Vatican’s authority is now primarily symbolic.
So, in my opinion, the Catholic Church is encouraging policies that bring more immigrants into Europe, particularly immigrants from Muslim-majority societies, in the hope that their presence will pressure European societies to rediscover their Christian identity and perhaps restore some of the Catholic Church’s former cultural influence.
I might be mistaken, and this could simply be a conspiracy theory, but as far as I can see, I struggle to find another explanation for the Catholic Church’s posture toward Europe’s immigration crisis.
Perhaps the Catholic Church believes that because it is built upon the rock of Peter, the gates of hell will not prevail against it, unlike the non-Catholic Eastern churches and Christian communities that were devastated or erased under centuries of Islamic rule.
If that is true, then the Catholic Church is making the same mistake Bibi made when he believed Israel would be able to contain Hamas.
Islam in Europe may begin its assault using the language and political machinery of the left, but it will not remain subordinate to the left forever.
Eventually, Islam will pursue its own religious and political objectives. And if Europe continues down this path, even the Basilica of St. Peter may one day face the fate of churches elsewhere that were converted into mosques.
I pray that the Catholic Church realizes that we are living in the real world and stops relying on humanly orchestrated political schemes to save the Church.
Let the God of the Church take care of His Church. Your responsibility is to do your part to preserve the civilization the Church built.
