And the cool part is Meleek has recognized and embraced this which is not something that is common for a 20-year old rookie (especially so early on)> He finished with the 2nd best defensive rating on the Cavs last night (98), had 11 (!) deflections and 3 steals. (h/t @Cavs_RTB)

Kenny was effusive in his praise about Meleek's defense. "I loved his defense, I thought his defense got us going. ... He's always in the right position, gets steals, really good anticipation. ... You got to be able to survive out there defensively as a rookie." (h/t @Cavs_RTB)

Meleek Thomas on his rookie season: “First team All-Rookie, 100% guaranteed. I’m trying to get the ROTY. Gotta get to the ECF and Finals with my guys. Anything a rookie can accomplish just check me off for it cause I’m chasing it.”

It’s official. Pittsburgh’s The Scoring Factory is heading to Geneva this season to take on Spire’s National Varisty Team 👀 I was high on the possiblities and opportunities The Scoring Factory could provide Pittsburgh basketball and scheduling the best HS team in the nation proves just that. @TSF_PREP @_TomKeller @SPIREHoops @PeteStrobl @Kevin_Boyle_Jr @MichalowskiCBB @OPCBball (Spire National Varisity Team Schedule)

Having a motor is probably one of the most important things to have as a basketball player, I truly believe having that alone puts you above the competition especially if they are lacking that aspect!!!

It’s one thing to be a gym rat but it’s another level when you a gym rat with a motor because you are almost guaranteed to get better. Just showing up doesn’t mean you are going to get better.

Perfect example of that is Leek!!!! There is a reason why he is where he is and will have a long lasting career in the NBA. Motor is unmatched, the will to get better is undefeated with him. This video is 3/4 years old and nothing has changed!

The basketball world has a long memory. The assistant you ignore today may become a head coach. The administrator you dismiss may become an AD. The young staffer you barely acknowledge may someday be making hiring decisions. Treat people well because it’s the right thing to do. It also happens to be really good career advice.
