If we’re giving Elon Musk preferential access to state contracts because of his wealth and connections, that’s corruption.
We cannot put the interests of our state aside to pay monopolists and insiders three times what their competitors charge.
I’m ready to investigate.

$227 million stripped from Texas schools to fund Greg Abbott's corrupt voucher scam. $68 million from Houston ISD alone. Our kids suffer while Abbott's donors get rich.
When I'm Governor, I will end the voucher scam and save our neighborhood schools.

Property taxes have gone up 85% under Greg Abbott. I have never, not once, voted to raise Texans’ property taxes.

Is Texas a state that is by and for the people, or is this the trillionaire’s world and we just live here?
After Elon Musk donated $500k to Abbott’s reelection campaign, SpaceX received a $30M state grant and $1.66B JETI tax break to build a semiconductor factory in Texas.
Texans deserve answers.
🚨 BREAKING: Texas state Rep. Gina Hinojosa has filed an official request to inspect unredacted communications between Gov. Greg Abbott’s office and Elon Musk and his companies, after roughly 1,400 pages of records released last year were heavily redacted.
The state previously argued that portions of the communications could be withheld because they contained “intimate and embarrassing information.”
In a letter sent to Abbott’s office today, Hinojosa invokes a provision of the Texas Public Information Act governing information requested by lawmakers for legislative purposes. She is seeking the same records previously released to the Texas Newsroom, but “without any redactions whatsoever,” including material deemed “embarrassing” or “intimate.”
Hinojosa says the records could shed new light on Musk’s relationship with Abbott, including his companies’ lucrative state contracts and tax incentives, as well as Musk’s campaign contributions. She argues Musk has turned Texas into a corporate playground and says greater transparency is needed to expose what she describes as corruption in Abbott’s relationship with powerful tech interests.
She is requesting that Abbott’s office arrange an inspection of both the redacted and unredacted records on or around October 13.
Now Texans may finally learn what was considered so “intimate and embarrassing” that it was kept from public view.

While other Texas Republicans are holding their ground, French has completely flatlined at 45%,making him the weakest Republican candidate statewide. Meanwhile, Jon Rosenthal has climbed steadily from 40% to 44%, closing the gap to just 1 point.
Independents and moderates across Texas are rallying behind Jon. French has hit his ceiling, but our coalition is just getting started.

My message to folks speaking out about ICE’s shooting of a man in Austin today:

A man was shot by an ICE agent this morning in Austin. While we closely monitor reports for more information and pray for his full recovery, there must be a full and transparent investigation into what happened.
I reaffirm Mayor Kirk Watson’s call for the ICE agent involved in the shooting to remain in Texas until a full investigation concludes.

I spent 25 years as an oil and gas engineer. Bo French spent Sunday morning sorting our student section by skin color.
Greg Abbott said Bo French would "wreck" our oil and gas industry. A man who can’t tell a Longhorn from a foreigner has no business regulating anything in TX.

Here’s another reason they had a convention in Dallas. It was a diversion. It took attention away from the Big Bend wall for a minute. But in case you’re wondering, here’s the latest happening in Big Bend National Park.
Went out to the least visited stretch of the Big Bend border sector in Hudspeth County where, despite the national park pause, wall construction is plowing full steam ahead. Far down a forgotten dusty washboard road, we found a massive staging area of freshly bladed desert--hundreds of acres--by far the largest I've ever seen for a wall construction project. Apocalyptic scenes happening out here, where seemingly no one is playing much attention.
$7 billion for this... All the while, we've seen more migrant apprehensions along smaller sections of the U.S.-Canada border than we have in the entire Big Bend Sector.
