I can’t sleep. I’ve been let down too many times @Arsenal. We’ve seen this movie before. On repeat. Yet.. This time, it feels different. I’ve had this feeling the whole season: That we are going to be champions. It’s been tested. Multiple times. But every time it gets really tough, I feel strangely calm. When we’re doing well, I feel excitement and pride and an urge to go to the stadium and shout and sing until my throat is sore, and clap until it starts to hurt. But when we ‘wobble’, like before the NLD, and yesterday, it turns into calmness. An unexpected, inexplicable stream of confidence runs through my veins: No, this isn’t done. It’s not the same old story; there is a twist to the tale. The familiar loop does not look familiar anymore. It seems ghosts of the past 22 years need exorcising, still. And perhaps the biggest, baddest of them all awaits at the Etihad. We’re not fighting City; we’re fighting our past. Sharpen your holy weapons boys, it was always going to be the tough, but the end is near. And it is glorious.

We did it!

International football and club football has been at a collision course for a while. The longer it takes, the clearer it is who’d survive. Can FIFA pivot to Club World Cup quick enough? Not when they’re every four years. I see a future where that tournament is held every two years and WC and Continental Cups the other two in return for a significantly less International football in between. A bigger WC and Continentals limit the need for qualifiers. Friendlies might be scrapped altogether. I’d welcome such a change.

When you lose the midfield battle you should always prioritize regaining it above all else. Immediately. Because if a goal is scored against you, it will almost always be the end. Unless it is the plan and you have transition threat. Clearly it wasn’t the plan, we had no transition threat (by design) i.e. choice of players. Arteta took too long to rectify that and it makes no sense to me why.

Thanks @clivepafc for saying what needs to be said. We have big fish everywhere now; he should let them all eat by limiting his own portion. No free roles; no running the show.

I don’t like the team’s build up with 8. We lack direction, directness and ingenuity. He slows the game and gives stability but no tools to speed it up and create chaos. Kills left dynamic and Zubi’s creativity from the middle and does not contribute much himself creativity-wise

Anyway I am at peace. I only see Arsenal and the road ahead. I have confidence and tranquility. That’s my only care. I am engaging less in social media and only watch the game now, never the ‘punditry’. I’m just bored of it all. The road is so inviting. Go brrr boys and drive
