For those of you voting “no” on Elon’s compensation package, here’s a question for you. If Elon 10X’d Tesla again from $600 billion to $6 trillion in 10 years, and we took a vote to give him 10% if that was achieved (otherwise he gets nothing), wouldn’t you vote yes? Wouldn’t you pay someone 10% if (and only if) they 10X ANY kind of investment on your behalf? We pay real estate brokers 6% to sell our homes at 1-2X, but you’re going to vote against paying Elon 10% to 10X your investment? This was probably the most fair and successful CEO compensation plan EVER IMPLEMENTED, and now that Elon fulfilled its terms, people feel like they don’t owe him anything. From Delaware judges to greedy and entitled institutional and retail investors. You people weren’t in the trenches with other Tesla investors fighting off short sellers, FUD and bankruptcy over the last decade. If you were, you’d want to honor the damn contract. If you’d vote “yes” for this hypothetical $6 trillion market cap plan, there’s absolutely zero reason not to ratify Elon’ 2018 compensation plan. It’s basically the same plan. I mean, either you are extremely stupid or you don’t want to honor a contract because you think you can get away without honoring it. By the way, you can’t get away without honoring this contract, and if you think you can, you don’t understand the impact that Elon has on his businesses.
