This is how you know people who know very little outside their own field. The tweet reeks of arrogance wearing intelligence's clothes. I once had a lecturer like that. He believed anyone who studied anything besides biochemistry or medicine had wasted their time. "Why would you go to school to learn accounting? Any fool can count money. Why would you go to school to study theatre arts? You don't need school to be a jester." Those were some of his exact words. A few years later, I took part in a stage play with theatre arts students at the University of Ìbàdàn. I couldn't help but respect them. Some were juggling three or four productions at once and still showing up to lectures. I was in just one production, and trying to memorise my lines while life threw its usual wahala at me was already a lot. If that one production stretched me, I can't imagine carrying four. Whatever else those students lacked, intelligence was not on the list. It makes you wonder what else such people get wrong without knowing it. The man who thinks accounting is just counting has clearly never tried to reconcile a company's books after someone else has hidden a theft in them. The man who thinks acting is just standing on a stage and talking has never tried to make an audience cry on command, eight shows a week, using only his voice and his face. The bottom line is this: intelligence shows up in many forms, and the moment you decide only your own form counts, you've already proven you don't have enough of it to recognise the rest.
Now I know why my friends don't date outside the legal profession 💔 Omo, marry and date a lawyer oo An average Nigerian is slow-witted.

If you’re young and you have some time on your hands. Pls sit on the internet and start obsessing about US stocks. Then get a side hustle or main job you use to fund it. Treat it like an obsession and wait for 5-10 years. Trust me your chances of financial independence is really high.

What I basically did to earn 1m a month, as a child of nobody, who has no connection, or mentor, just my phone, Internet and laptop. 1. Target foreign agencies in whatever niche you're in. 2. Send messages to people in your niche outside your country, your aim is to connect and build relationships not to ask for help, your referral will come in slowly lol you will be shocked. 3. Lower your expectations, and increase your outreach like mad. Why because in sales we send outreach a lot. So you're basically practicing sales in small scale. 4. Be humble, Don't think you have arrived keep learning and learning and learning. 5. Have a back up plan. 6. Post yourself online avoid negative conversation, even when people are laughing at you. 7. Learn how to communicate well and carry yourself. 8. Speak up when you need help. The worst you get is a No.
I'm 35. At this point in my career, I know people earning ₦1m–₦10m monthly remotely and if you ask them what exactly they do all day, the answer is they over see activities. One guy disappears for hours during workdays, goes to the gym, runs errands, attends family events and still gets "great job" from his manager. Another works for a foreign company, travels constantly and seems to spend more time at airports than on Zoom. Then I know brilliant people working 10-hour days, commuting through Lagos traffic and earning a fraction of that. The modern job market is one of the strangest things I've ever seen. The hardest worker is not always the highest paid. Not even close.

After university, you have a few years to lock in and change the trajectory of your life—from poor, to middle class, and gradually to rich. If you waste those years because you think you have time, you risk becoming part of the statistics of the average person. Grind and fight for your future now so you don't end up as one of those people who had potential but never became anything with it. Pressure yourself. Diamonds are formed under pressure.

If you’re job hunting in Nigeria and you’re looking into reasonable sectors. Sign up and prioritize the following platforms 1. NOGIC JQS by NCDMB ( Still the most important industry database for Nigerian oil and gas that source candidates from the platform) 2. SPE Nigeria Council 3. NELEX This is a free advise you didn’t pay for🙂

Network. Network. Network. Network. Network. Network. Network. Network. Talk to at least 1,500 quality people in a year online and offline. That tech skill you are trying to learn doesn't come with a job. Skills open doors, but people open opportunities. Research consistently shows that a large share of jobs, often cited around 70% to 85%, are filled through networking and referrals rather than public applications. The more quality people you connect with, the higher your chances of getting opportunities, collaborations, and offers that never get posted online. If you are not building relationships, you are relying purely on luck.

Dear Son, Only buy basic furniture as a tenant. Buy as much furniture as you wish as a landlord. Never go into debt to furnish a rented apartment.

As you de so, let ₦80m drop into your account sharp sharp for inside this year and you still dey dream Lagos Island. Baba rub your hand for your head. True wealth no dey pursue headache. Grab one clean Toyota Camry (foreign-used, recent model like 2018-2022 around ₦15m for something solid and low drama). Drop ₦5m into reliable bank stocks — Zenith, GTCO, Access — those ones wey dey drop dividend like clockwork every year. Lock ₦35m in a good money market fund or treasury bills (still dey give 16-20%+ these days, easy ₦500k-700k+ monthly coming in passive, no stress). Pick up 2-3 plots in up-and-coming spots like Sangotedo, Awoyaya or parts of Ibeju-Lekki axis (₦10m for decent land wey go rise well well over time). Bless your parents proper ₦5m. Keep ₦5m as solid emergency cash or buffer. Use ₦5m to kickstart or boost that side hustle/business wey you get passion for, you fit put am for X and other social medias for visibility. Your future self go just look you dey hail: Bros, na man you be. You dey catch the update now? Oya follow me...✍️

1/ If, transport = ₦40k Food = ₦35k Data + bills = ₦20k Then a ₦100k salary is not really ₦100k.
A Nigerian prefer to be jobless at home than to work a job of 100k
