Later on Monday, I met with the other members of @SypJustice. We discussed the Victims, Witnesses and Justice Reform Bill which was recently introduced to the Scottish Parliament and how we would ensure that young people’s views were represented during the upcoming consultation.

@SypJustice's next Convener and Deputy Convener have been elected! Convener: @kaylamsyp DC: @DeanCollinsMSYP Congratulations! When they take up post at the AGM, my time as Convener will be over. It's been a great ride and I'm eager to see where the committee goes next!

Our Convener Jack Bell spoke at today's #ChildRightsCPD course with @IICFStrath as a panellist on justice. He discussed the need to see children as individuals, the role of culture changes in achieving a trauma-informed, flexible system, and the issues with an "ethic of justice".

Thanks must go to @IainCorbett88, @fifidyer, @askelton_CCL, @davieclan, Dr Michelle Donnelly of @lawstrath for serving on such a great panel! My main takeaway is how vital it is secure care, while not a fix-all, is a necessary alternative to imprisoning young people. -Jack
