The Five Clocks framework has been tracking the agricultural cascade since February 28. This morning Mosaic confirmed it.
Louisiana and Bartow curtailed. Brazil scaling back. Phosphate guidance withdrawn for 2026. Sulphur shortage from Hormuz cited directly.
That closes the loop on Clock 2 across all four companies:
CF Industries — nitrogen beneficiary. Confirmed. $CF
Nutrien — nitrogen beneficiary. Confirmed. $NTR
Yara — one-third of globally traded urea disrupted. Confirmed.
Mosaic — phosphate victim. Sulphur channel. Confirmed this morning. $MOS
Same corridor. Four corporate primaries. The dual feedstock cascade was mapped here in March. Gas-to-urea running one direction, crude-to-sulphur-to-phosphates running the other. Both sides now in earnings releases.
The framework also called the semiconductor and helium exposure through SK Hynix and the Qatar Ras Laffan cryogenic damage. QatarEnergy’s CEO confirmed 17% of LNG capacity offline with a three to five year recovery timeline last week.
No material directional reversals to date.
Diplomatic architecture is moving. The storage clock is not. That gap is where the next 72 hours will be decided. Kaneva anchor Wednesday, Trump-Xi summit opens Wednesday in Beijing.

Public layer stays free on X. The operational depth is for allocators who need the complete picture before the next gates close.
Seven weeks in. One billion barrels removed from global markets. The Arab world's only nuclear plant struck by a drone. An Iranian proxy commander charged with plotting attacks in New York, Amsterdam, and London. Four corporate primaries confirming the agricultural cascade.
The ceasefire was extended. The deadline is 72 hours.
Full analysis in the article.
Today’s paid brief picks up where this piece ended.
The CPI printed at 3.8% this morning, with energy at 17.9% year-over-year,l and gasoline at 28.4%. Shelter re-accelerating simultaneously. The Stall Tax is now in BLS data, not just earnings releases.
The full brief: storage clock, diplomatic architecture, Trump-Xi, and the Kaneva anchor, is in paid inboxes now.

No material reversals to date.
The April CPI just printed at 3.8%, the highest since May 2023. Core above consensus. Shelter re-accelerating. Real wages falling.
The Stall Tax is no longer contained to energy. It is in the government data.
Today’s paid brief covers the full picture: CPI transmission, Mosaic Q1, storage clock, Trump-Xi, and the Kaneva anchor hitting tomorrow.
The corridor is closed. The data is in.
Three gates in 72 hours.
The Five Clocks framework has been running since Feb 28, public timestamps on X.
Today’s Mosaic print ($MOS guidance withdrawn, two US plants halted, Hormuz sulphur channel cited) is exactly what the framework flagged in March. Stall Tax transmission confirmed at corporate level.
While we wait on the Substack situation, paid analysis continues via direct Stripe:

New briefs drop as signals warrant. The public layer stays free. Depth is for capital allocators and energy professionals who need the complete picture.
Grateful for the support, it keeps the work independent.
The sulphur channel was named in March. Nobody else was tracking it.
Today $MOS confirmed it at corporate primary. Two US plants halted. Hormuz cited directly.
The Stall Tax does not stop at energy. It runs through every molecule that touched the Gulf this spring.
Full analysis:
The market priced an Iran deal this morning. Oil fell 12%. Then it recovered half those losses.
This is the third time oil markets have priced a deal that hasn’t been signed.
Here is what actually happened today, and what has not happened yet.
The 48-hour window expires Friday May 8.
That is the same date Trump said Project Freedom would be reassessed.
The storage clock does not know about either deadline. Kpler’s May 5 update: usable Iranian onshore storage approximately 39 million barrels, exhaustion in 20-24 days, pre-emptive cuts likely within days.
May 13 is the Kaneva forced shut-in anchor. May 14-15 is the Trump-Xi Beijing summit.
The convergence window is seven days away
Iran’s FM Araghchi met China’s Wang Yi in Beijing this morning.
Chinese readout: Hormuz reopening “could be addressed promptly.”
Iran’s own Foreign Ministry readout: no Hormuz language.
Iran is willing to tell China what it will not publish for domestic consumption. That asymmetry is the signal.
The free piece today covers the MOU architecture, the $920 million short, the Netanyahu dimension, the storage clock, and what CF Industries says tonight.
Overnight update. May 5, 2026.
CENTCOM denied the Iranian claim that two missiles struck a US Navy frigate. Iranian state media only. Not confirmed. Carry it at that weight.
What is confirmed: Fujairah port is partially normalising. Bunkering resumed Tuesday morning. Brent opened at $113.93 — down from Monday’s $114.44 close. The war premium is intact. The panic bid is not.
The Iranian Coherence Tripwire has fired. Scenario D is modal. Neither of those facts changed overnight.
What also did not change: the diplomatic track is stalled, not formally dead. Iran has not withdrawn the 14-point proposal.
UAE has not retaliated militarily. The escalation ladder has not moved to the next rung.
The storage clock kept running. May 13 is eight days away.

The last 12 hours in the Strait of Hormuz.
Project Freedom launched. Two US-flagged vessels transited safely.
Iran then struck an ADNOC VLCC with two Shahed-136 drones. Hit the Fujairah Oil Industries Zone — the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline terminal, the UAE’s Hormuz bypass — with drones. Launched 15 missiles and 4 drones at the UAE. Three intercepted. Fire confirmed at 13 gigawatts thermal signature across three detection points.
Two cargo vessels ablaze off the UAE coast. Six Iranian small boats eliminated by US forces.
Iranian state media claims two missiles struck a US frigate. CENTCOM has not confirmed.
The IRGC published a map claiming Fujairah and Khorfakkan as Iranian-controlled territory.
Now a draft UNSC resolution — co-sponsored by the US, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait — invokes Chapter VII of the UN Charter on Hormuz freedom of navigation. Requires Iran to disclose and remove sea mines. Prohibits the toll regime. Prohibits any member state from assisting Iran in closing the Strait. Signals sanctions for non-compliance.
China and Russia will veto. The veto is the signal.
The Iranian Coherence Tripwire has fired. Scenario D is modal. Every Gulf sovereign just co-sponsored a Chapter VII resolution against Iran.
The storage clock kept running through all of it. May 13 is nine days away.
Framework has been tracking this sequence since February 28.

Iran struck the Fujairah Oil Industries Zone with drones today. Fire confirmed. Three injured.
Iran launched four cruise missiles at the UAE. Three intercepted. One into the sea.
The IRGC published a map claiming control over Fujairah and Khorfakkan — UAE port territory.
This happened on the same day Project Freedom launched. The same day two US-flagged vessels completed the first confirmed Hormuz transit. The same day Iran struck an ADNOC VLCC with Shahed-136 drones.
Fujairah is not just a port. It is the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline terminal — the UAE’s Hormuz bypass. Iran just struck the bypass infrastructure on the same day it contested the strait itself.
The Iranian Coherence Tripwire did not just fire. It is running.
Paid subscribers get the emergency scenario matrix update tonight. [email protected]
