You've done multiple interviews as of late where you consistently emphasize the need to “uncover the facts,” yet you make strong, accusatory statements about “clear wrongdoing.” How can these two positions be reconciled?
So you're saying you don't yet have any facts?
Your statements have eerily echoed those of the VHSL, who, by all accounts, even in court, have lacked evidence to support their claims.
You've alluded to mass recruiting, do you have any evidence to support this claim? If so, could you point us to it?
You say this situation has been the biggest scandal in Commonwealth history. Despite your dramatic claims, no games have been forfeited, and no player has been declared ineligible, even after the imposed ban.
Perhaps the true "scandal" lies in the excessive scrutiny faced by Hayfield students and parents compared to other transfer cases across the state and the ulterior motives behind it.
What about the 14+ transfers who left Hayfield for other schools, potentially through illegal recruiting and went to schools across the county, while passing over schools 5-10 minutes away? Do you support an independent investigation into these cases as well?
You've repeatedly thrown out this "31" number, do you have proof backing up these numbers? Because I assure you it is wrong. Is this number documented anywhere (officially) to support this claim? For clarity.
You seem to give others a pass for "onesies and twosies". Is there a documented limit on the amount of transfers a school can take in? Whether in general, or sports related? If so, could you point us to that as well? Because right is right and wrong is wrong. Wouldn't you agree?
To allude to giving a "pass" to other schools based on pure numbers, is just wrong.
Is there any concrete evidence of wrongdoing or broken rules you can point us to that support a scandal? Or is it just being labeled a scandal because that's what you need it to be?
Are you not a part of the same collective (FCPS) that you've repeatedly thrown under the bus?
Your criticism of FCPS is hypocritical, given your role within the system. Moreover, 90 pages of court documents, released after your public comments, address many of your concerns. Have you since reviewed these documents? Will you?
Did you know that it was documented in court already that the 14 (not 31) transfers were ultimately verified as bonafide residents? You seem to be ill-informed that the actual transfers and the process have never been in question.
You claim to have brought up a motion for an independent investigation months ago. How many Board meetings occured between that initial motion and now? Did you bring up the motion in any other meetings leading up to this point? To further document your concerns? Or did it only become opportunistic for you to only bring it up again, now.
You've alluded to the AD resigning and claim it was due to the text release. Your assertions about the AD’s resignation and the timing of your proposed investigation raise doubts about your transparency. As you have direct access to his original request for leave of absence months before this.
You’ve used terms like “loopholes” and “driving a truck through” the system. Are you referring to legitimate processes or alleged violations of specific rules? Can you point us to these alleged loopholes for clarity?
Would you classify a documented process where all guidelines were adhered to a "loophole"?
Ultimately, your public statements often present opinions as facts. This inconsistency undermines your credibility and raises questions about your true motivations.
We're just confused on how the two can be the same? If your opinions are based on facts, how can you routinely say you still need to see them?
I challenge you to provide concrete evidence to support your claims. As a legal professional, you should be able to articulate your arguments with clarity and precision. And avoid disguising your opinions to the like.
