Last night, Switchback hosted our first ever parliamentary event!
We brought together MPs, Peers, our supporters and people working across the justice sector to join us for a special screening of BAFTA-nominated Lionsgate film Wasteman.
It was encouraging to speak to Prisons Minister @CMcKinnellMP, who was in attendance, about Switchback’s frontline experience with people leaving prison and the need for proper support to create a society that works for everyone.
A big thank you to everyone who attended. If you’d like to work with us please visit the page below: switchback.org.uk/work-with-…
Following the Prime Minister's announcement today of a review into the early release scheme, and his welcome focus this week on building a more preventative state that invests in people's success rather than paying for failure, we've shared our response.
While much of the debate has focused on who leaves prison and when, our work alongside young men leaving prison across London, and the insights of our Experts by Experience, tells us the bigger question is what happens next.
Any review of release policy must go hand in hand with a National Resettlement Framework that gives everyone leaving prison the foundations they need to rebuild their lives.

Switchback Trainees spoke about boxing, food, yoga, film and football amongst other things - sharing the talent, ambition and potential of young men caught in the justice system, and why they're more than their prison sentence.
Together, these voices show what’s possible when people are given the support they need to build stable lives they can be proud of.
A big thank you to all of our supporters and partners who got involved in the campaign! #ReshapeRelease
