High sensitivity-cardiac #Troponin I and high sensitivity-cardiac Troponin T provide comparable diagnostic information regarding exercise-induced myocardial #ischemia. Overall, their diagnostic accuracy seems moderate.

On #WorldMentalHealthDay some reminders that:
1) comparison is the thief of joy
2) your outcomes don’t entirely determine your value

In 1992 Peter Ratcliffe received this rejection from Nature.
Almost 30 years later he won the Nobel Prize for the same discovery.

If you'e never read The Falling Man, you should do so. I post this on September 11th every year, and I find time to read it on this day every year. Still, in my eyes, the greatest piece of journalism I have ever read. esquire.com/news-politics/a4…
9/11 was not merely a terrorist attack on the United States.
It was a successful attack on the entire free world we lived in.
That world was destroyed on September 11, 2001. It no longer exists.
But they failed to destroy our values.
Never forget.

Just to clear some of the 9/11 misinformation spread by people who obviously weren't alive or old enough to see the footage—
1. Stations showed the planes hitting as videos became available.
2. It started as a smaller news event before plane 2 hit and we realized this was unprecedented.
3. Lots and lots and lots of teachers paused lessons to show events on TV, which were commonly available in many schools.
4. Most of us were stuck to TVs as events unfolded.
5. If jumpers were shown on TV, it was accidental; what most of us saw were photographs in newspapers.
6. There was an immense feeling of unity in the nation for several months.
7. We assumed more attacks were coming in both similar and different ways—and that things might never be "normal" again.

"Shocking"
These were the headlines for two very large, pivotal drug trials to reduce heart disease.
But what is really going on?

or a longer duration of Lp(a) lowering aren't warranted, but what this failed trial tells me is we need to double down on LDL lowering and fight back HARD against the growing anti-statin movement in the "wellness" and "functional medicine" communities.
Can't agree more to this.
They are still poor. And the texts are full of unnecessary fillers. Maybe it sounds good but in most cases not even that.
They are still poor. Still.
The quality of current LLMs for creating presentations is still remarkably poor. I don’t know what they were trained on, but the output is full of slogans, clichés, repetition, emphasis, and “not X, but Y” constructions. The graphics are also terrible: convoluted, cluttered, and full of inappropriate and unnecessary icons. Not to mention that the presentations all end up looking the same. LLMs can be useful if you lack the time or motivation to do the work yourself, but the audience notices. In the end, you may save time at the expense of your reputation and personal identity.

What is the opinion of #cardiotwitter about increasing use of AI ( CHATGPT, Claude) in making PowerPoint slides in major conferences. Have you ever seen such rules in a restaurant?
I was curious what kind of restaurant it was. Wasn't surprised.

An Ärzte.
An Patienten.
