Funny how the whole story hangs on the word 'reportedly'. No source, no verification, just a random video. Lazy journalism at its finest!
Schoolchildren protest outside a school in Azerbaijan, in a video that shows pupils boycotting classes.
The protests follow reports that a new “secular” dress code recently introduced by the government has led to hijab-wearing pupils and teachers being barred from school

Goodbye to LeetCode? Google just updated its interview process. AI is now a part of it.
They have introduced a new round called Code Comprehension.
The idea behind this round is to drop the candidates into a 200-500-line codebase with Gemini available for use.
This round evaluates:
- Can you read someone else's code
- Are you able to debug independently before utilizing AI
- Can you catch when Gemini is wrong

We all know how AI can help us create messages that look so real and videos that are very convincing.
Voice calls are not exempted either. This is called voice cloning.
You could receive a call from someone who sounds exactly like your family member or friend, saying they are in trouble and urgently need money, and you might not even have a reason to doubt them.
But what if it isn’t really them?
Scammers can use AI to clone someone’s voice and make you believe you’re speaking to someone you know.
How do you protect yourself from falling for something like this?
Whenever a call, text, or video makes you feel scared or pressured to react quickly, that’s the best time to pause and then call or text your loved one with their official number to verify the situation.

Throughout the month of October, I will be engaging in a 31 days Cybersecurity Diet as part of my contribution to the conversations regarding Cybersecurity Awareness.
Each day, I will post a basic Cybersecurity topic, share few tips and ask a question. I want to encourage everyone doing Cybersecurity to join me by using the Cybersecurity diet to also educate people about basic Cybersecurity awareness. Let’s continue to spread the word and support the ecosystem to reduce Cybersecurity breaches 💪

Weekend project to $13.3B. That's software engineering for you, one good idea and actually shipping it beats everything. I enjoyed following GPT Engineer from day one, good to see where it ended up!
Before the $13.3B valuation, a weekend project by @antonosika called GPT Engineer hit #1 on Product Hunt.
When it launched for a third time, it was @Lovable.
Now 2,751 launches on Product Hunt are built with Lovable.
Big things start small.
When will the world talk about this? ✅ 443 mine victims ✅ millions of landmines on Azerbaijani territory ✅ 30 years needed to clear them. This is the legacy of Armenian occupation! 🇦🇿
A shepherd and his father were injured in explosions in the uncleared territory of the Jebrail district. The number of mine victims in the area of the former #Karabakh conflict has reached 443.

📈📉 Which leagues are European underperformens and who punch above their weight? 💶
We put every European top flight's UEFA 5y coefficient against the Transfermarkt value of its league. League value explains almost 90% of the differences between countries. The rest is where it gets interesting.
📈 Most points above what their money predicts:
+92% 🇮🇸 Iceland
+66% 🇫🇴 Faroe Islands
+63% 🇮🇪 Ireland
+61% 🇨🇾 Cyprus
📉 Furthest below:
-45% 🇬🇪 Georgia
-40% 🇧🇾 Belarus
-36% 🇷🇸 Serbia
-35% 🇱🇹 Lithuania
🇮🇸 Iceland have collected 17.0 points (5y) from a €29m league.
🇬🇪 Georgia's league is worth more, €49m, and has collected only 6.5 pts in 5y ranking.

if you want to succeed in a technical interview all you need is the ability to talk for 15 minutes in depth about a problem you solved
the catch is that it can take years to be able to do this

“I’m only leaving it for one minute. Nothing will happen.”
But sometimes, a minute is all it takes for things to go wrong.
Leaving your device unattended in public because you think you'll be back in no time is like leaving your handbag open in a crowded market and expecting nobody to touch it🫠.
You might feel like nothing can go wrong, but you can’t predict what might happen while you’re away.
Someone could walk away with your device or access your personal information if it’s left unlocked.
So please, don’t leave your device unattended in public, even if you’re stepping away for just a minute.
If you need to leave, take it with you. And always lock your screen when you’re not using it.

James Watt invented the unit of horsepower in the 1780s not as a scientific measurement but as a sales tool, by timing how much work a mill horse could do in a minute, he created a benchmark his customers already understood, allowing them to calculate exactly how many horses his steam engine would replace and therefore how quickly they would recoup the purchase price.
One horsepower is defined as 33,000 foot-pounds of work per minute, the figure Watt calculated from his horse observations.

Azerbaijan : A second mine explosion has occurred in Jabrayil. Ashraf Gahramanov—the father of Orkhan Ashraf oglu Gahramanov, who had previously been injured in a mine explosion—was also wounded in a mine blast.
Axar.az reports that the press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) issued a joint statement regarding the incident.
It was reported that the second mine explosion took place on October 8, 2026, in the territory of Dagmashanli village in the liberated Jabrayil district.
Notably, Ashraf Elman oglu Gahramanov (born in 1966) entered the area where his son, Orkhan Gahramanov, had previously stepped on a mine; there, he too fell victim to an anti-personnel mine. Ashraf Gahramanov sustained injuries as a result of the incident. An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Jabrayil District Prosecutor's Office:
"ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office once again urge citizens to observe safety regulations, pay close attention to mine hazard signs, refrain from touching suspicious objects, avoid entering unfamiliar areas, and not trespass into areas where fencing operations are underway!"

Buy an inch? We didn't buy anything! I watched our own soldiers take back our land inch by inch with their lives. Turkey stood with us as a brother, not a crutch. That's the reality you can't handle.
1 It is understood with his last speeches that Aliyev is experiencing power poisoning. He thinks that he won the Karabakh victory himself. Without the support of #Turkey, he would not have been able to buy an inch of land. The opposition in the country is imprisoning journalists.

🇦🇿 Face to face. No backing down.
An Azerbaijani soldier orders Russian peacekeepers to step back during a tense confrontation in Karabakh, insisting they stay within their designated zone.
The scene carried a clear message: this is Azerbaijani soil. Russian peacekeepers would later withdraw from Karabakh, leaving Azerbaijan in control of every inch of its territory.
