"The mineral play is only part of it. Price's Greenland Energy Company is also pursuing permits for an exploratory oil well planned for 2027 on Greenland's eastern coast, where he says the geology mirrors the petroleum-producing North Sea.
"One of the reasons that we are exploring for oil in Greenland is because of what's going on in the Strait of Hormuz right now," Price said. The war with Iran and the Ukraine conflict have both exposed how fragile global energy supply chains really are."

"This mining district could be one of the largest mining districts in the world," Price said, comparing its potential to Russia's mineral-rich Norilsk district.
"Critical minerals, they touch every part of our lives, which includes our cellphones, our computers, batteries, power storage, power generation," he added. The scale remains unproven as exploratory drilling continues.
