How can it NOT matter that our planet is boiling?
Extreme heat and extreme weather events like flooding are causing unimaginable damage, stress, loss, disease and suffering for people.
India is also witnessing ALL this and more.
At such a time doesn’t it make SENSE to protect the systems that bring balance? That help mitigate temperature rise? To conserve what is remaining of our forests? If anything, keep adding more forest cover?
Do we need our politicians to understand how India will descend into hell and become uninhabitable if we rob her of her forests?
I hope not.
This is a sincere urgent appeal to all Members of Rajya Sabha please #SaveIndianForests 🙏🏻🌳
Please vote AGAINST the Forest Conservation Amendment Bill 2023.
Utterly disgusting and pathetic . Right now with all of the biodiversity and clarinet challenges - we really don’t need to be slaughtering our apex predators for sport.

The Great American Shark Slaughter. Excellent article and an absolute shame that this is allowed. These animals belong to the world and not to any one country. Plus Apex predators who keep our oceans healthy. thenation.com/article/enviro…

We keep saying we need to leave a better world for our children - and we must that’s not the debate , but what about leaving better children for the world ? What we teach them, what they observe, what we make them believe is important - that’s the children we will leave.

How can anything we do to decarbonise be called renewables if they are still entirely dependent on an extractive economy - still mining for rare metals, especially deep sea mining. And what’s the point of removing carbon if we decimate biodiversity?
