Yesterday we learned that this school screened applicants before enrolling them and they admit to not enrolling students with disabilities who have greater needs. Vouchers give tax $$ to private/religious schools that choose students they will enroll. This should be made clear.
Getting things together for the @EdVotersPA @PASchoolsWork advocacy day in Harrisburg tomorrow!
I finished up the Janie Crow climbing rose wrap to keep me warm during Zoom meetings when I can’t wear my ratty bathrobe 🙂

Under current law charters don't receive enough $$ for students with greater needs (& enroll very few of these kids) & they receive windfalls for students who have few needs. They can spend excess special ed $$ from districts on advertising. How does this system benefit kids?

Charters should be paid it actually costs the charter or cyber charter school to provide required and necessary services to students with disabilities. Do you think it is good policy (or good for students) for charters to reap a profit off of students with disabilities?
