Five years ago, I arrived at Wake Forest with a deep belief in the power of #ProHumanitate. Every step of this journey has reaffirmed that belief. Together, we expanded opportunity, strengthened community, advanced research and scholarship, and built momentum for Wake Forest's future. But what I will carry with me most is not measured in milestones. It is the people. The relationships. The shared belief in who we are and who we could become together. I have always believed that Wake Forest is at its best when it prepares people not only for successful careers, but for lives of meaning, integrity and service to others. My hope for this University has never changed: that it will continue to form people who are curious, compassionate and committed to making a difference. Serving as your president has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Thank you to our students, faculty, staff, trustees, alumni and families for the privilege of being a part of this remarkable community and for shaping these past five years in lasting ways. As always, Go Deacs. 💛

Thank you, Coach Dickert! #GoDeacs

It has been an honor to welcome the @DFB_Team to Wake Forest and Winston-Salem. The @FIFAWorldCup has a unique way of connecting people across cultures and continents, and we are proud to share our campus, our community and our spirit of #ProHumanitate as the team prepares for the world’s biggest stage.

For the final episode of #WalkWithWente, the tables are turned as @msnownews anchor Stephanie Ruhle (P ‘29) joins me for a conversation about what drew me to Wake Forest and why I felt called to lead this University. Watch the full episodes: president.wfu.edu/communicat… #ProHumanitate

I am excited to welcome Dr. Peter Rodriguez to Wake Forest and look forward to seeing the University continue to thrive under his leadership. Peter’s deep commitment to academic excellence, global engagement and preparing students to lead lives of meaning and purpose makes him a wonderful choice for Wake Forest’s next chapter. I cannot wait for our community to get to know him in the months ahead. Welcome to Wake Forest!

Last weekend, we unveiled the presidential portrait that will remain at Wake Forest long after my time here. Seeing it for the first time alongside so many friends and colleagues was both surreal and deeply meaningful. I’m grateful to artist Jie Ruan for his extraordinary talent and partnership throughout this process and to everyone who helped bring this portrait to life. Reflecting on what this portrait should represent about my time at Wake Forest was one of the most meaningful parts of the experience. I’m honored to now have it become part of Wake Forest’s history. #ProHumanitate

It’s a beautiful day to graduate!

So grateful. What an honor!

An amazing weekend is ahead. Thank you to everyone who makes this happen for our graduates. #GoDeacs

Charlotte has become such an important part of my Wake Forest journey. Today’s official ribbon-cutting of the new Wake Forest Charlotte Campus @ThePearlCLT felt like a celebration of growth, partnership and possibility as we expand the presence of our School of Professional Studies and @WakeForestBiz. I’m grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life as we continue creating new opportunities for learning, collaboration and impact. #WakeForestCLT #ProHumanitate

Best wishes on your finals, Deacs!

Welcome to @WakeForest!

Happy LDOC, Deacs! 🎩
