I’ve been saying it since 2021: City Hall needs to focus on core services. Needs before wants.
This video is from my 2021 campaign. Five years later, my priorities haven’t changed: reliable infrastructure, safe communities, and respect for your tax dollars.
With budget decisions ahead, I hope this Council will finally make the tough choices to put those priorities first. That means funding the essentials and being willing to say no to spending we simply cannot justify.
That’s what I’ll keep pushing for.

Alberta is mourning alongside the Canadian Armed Forces and the families, friends and colleagues of those affected by the tragic incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright yesterday.
The loss of life and injuries are heartbreaking. On behalf of the Government of Alberta, I extend my deepest condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and wish those who have been injured a full recovery. Our thoughts are also with the military personnel, families and colleagues facing uncertainty and grief during this incredibly difficult time.
We are deeply grateful to the first responders, paramedics, physicians, nurses and hospital teams across Alberta who have mobilized to provide care to those injured. Albertans should all be incredibly proud of their frontline health care workers and our acute care system that has managed this mass casualty event. We’re also thankful to our neighbours in Saskatchewan who did not hesitate to support our response with additional air ambulance capacity, and to other provinces who have reached out offering their support and condolences.
I will be traveling to Edmonton today to meet with provincial ministers and federal officials. The Government of Alberta continues to work closely with the federal government and local authorities. We have convened our Emergency Management Cabinet Coordination Committee and the Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre (PECC) has been activated to a level 3.
As a mark of respect for those who have lost their lives and in solidarity with the military community and their families, flags at provincial government buildings across Alberta will be lowered to half-mast.
In the days ahead, our thoughts will remain with everyone affected by this tragedy. Alberta stands with the Canadian Armed Forces, the people of Wainwright and all those grieving during this difficult time.

Tears & prayers for the tragedy unfolding @ CFB Wainwright. The loss of those serving, families affected and the courage of the 1st responders is in the hearts & minds of Canadians this day. With much yet to be told. Sending strength, faith and fortitude in the days ahead.

It cannot be understated: our broken immigration system has caused high unemployment, high home prices and high inflation. It must be fixed and provincial rights strengthened.
Today, the Prime Minister got a copy of our referendum questions including the 9 on immigration and constitutional reforms. If Albertans give us a strong mandate on these questions, our government will get right to work on these needed reforms.
And as I’ve said many times, please vote for Option 1, a strong Alberta within a united Canada, and yes to the rest! 🍁

Calgary Mayor Jeromy Farkas is on Reddit urging residents to lobby councillors for MORE transit spending while City Hall advances massive property tax and water rate increases.
Where is Farkas’ same enthusiasm for cutting City Hall spending?

Went onto Reddit & Farkas is rallying his Transit "Tiger Team". The fact that he ignores taxpayers & spends so much time engaging with individuals so disconnected with reality is disturbing. A few e.g. of Reddit dialogue below.

And this is why I've always disliked Thomas Lukaszuk, he is unable to tell the truth.
He's so partisan that he wants to lie about Conservative MPs.
Here's my interview from five weeks ago with @DaneLloydMP on the CPC effort on the referendum.

While Mayor Jeromy distracts himself with provincial matters; votes in favor of proposed tax and utility hikes; and being a wannabe social media influencer, City of Calgary is hiring more non-frontline staff while demanding more from taxpayers.

Canada can't handle <checks notes> 15,000,000 (!!?) more foriegn workers.
Immigration levels must come way WAY down.
Non-citizens with expired visas must be removed.
We must train our youth, make life affordable so that Canadians can have children, and hire Canadian.

A bit melodramatic Mr. Mayor.
The announcement yesterday specifically supported the steps that you and yyc council have taken to address this issue, while ensuring Edmonton begins taking a similar approach.
The fact is these municipal infill policies have greatly devalued hundreds of properties over the last several years without compensation to the home owner. That is a breach of property rights and every elected official should be supportive of adjusting the approach on this issue.
The UCP government will continue to stand up for regular homeowners and property rights.

To a family, a home is more than a building.
It’s where memories are made, milestones are celebrated, and years of hard work come together. For most people, it’s the biggest investment they’ll ever make.
Residents in Calgary and Edmonton have been speaking up and raising concerns about how redevelopment and increased density are affecting their neighbourhoods. They deserve to have a say in how their communities change.
Growth matters, but so does getting it right. Our government intends to stand with families and support responsible growth that respects the people who call these neighbourhoods home.

Traci, that’s exactly the double standard I’ve been pointing out. The mayor is entitled to his opinion on the referendum, but so are Albertans who disagree with him. And municipalities are under provincial jurisdiction. I’d rather see the mayor focus on Calgary’s finances, infrastructure and the issues he was elected to address. There’s certainly no shortage of work to be done.

I find it rather rich that Calgary’s and Edmonton’s mayors are calling the province’s actions an attack on democracy and telling Premier Smith to stay in her lane.
Both weighed in on Alberta’s provincial referendum, and Calgary’s mayor went as far as using the term “useful idiots” when discussing Alberta separatists on national television.
They were both elected to manage municipal affairs, not to continually tell Albertans how to vote on provincial matters.
They are absolutely allowed to have an opinion, but first and foremost, they should do their jobs. If they expect the Premier to stay in her lane, perhaps they should both stay in theirs.
That’s a double standard, plain and simple.
