🚨 FORMER NSPCC HELPLINE MANAGER SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES Leighton Camara, 38, has been sentenced after admitting arranging or facilitating sexual activity with a child. Camara contacted an undercover police officer on Grindr, believing he was a 14-year-old boy. The conversation moved to Snapchat and became sexual despite being told the boy was 14. A meeting was arranged in Rhyl on 15 November 2023. Camara turned up expecting to meet “Sam” - but police were waiting and arrested him. The court heard Camara had worked as an NSPCC helpline manager and had also told police he volunteered with a youth group. At Mold Crown Court, Camara was sentenced to 15 months in prison, suspended for two years. He was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years, ordered to complete rehabilitation work and required to wear an alcohol-monitoring tag for 120 days. The judge told him he had come “incredibly close” to immediate custody.
