If every single Bitcoin block was filled with the maximum possible data (≈4 MB) for the next 100 years, a full node would only need ~22 TB. That costs $600 today. That will be a trivial expense in a century. Block weight limit already caps the worst case. The sky is not falling!

BIP-110 ran Knots nodes with little real economic activity. One crawl found ~71% of signaling nodes were duplicates, leaving unique node support around 5-6% They were a clear minority. No collusion. No seizure of Bitcoin. The network followed consensus as designed.

BIP-110 just made it obvious: simply running a node doesn’t give you power. Power belongs to the nodes that actually process real transactions. Economic weight (BTC held + moved) is what miners follow. The chain with actual network usage wins.
