So appreciative of our amazing @SWOG GU committee for ensuring the patient voice is represented & heard at all times, incl. this panel on #clinicaltrials. It was a pleasure to speak with my fellow GU advocates Darrell Nakagawa & @MoultrieLee on trial accrual. #GUonc #OncTwitter
Great agenda at the @SWOG #clinicaltrials symposium featuring terrific patient advocates (@LauraEsfeller), experts (@neerajaiims @slernerbcmedu1) & high accruing investigators (@PBarataMD @AbhiTrip87 @DrVaishampayan). Was also awesome to have @drdonsdizon join us as an honorary #GU oncologist!

In patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer, extended lymphadenectomy did not improve disease-free or overall survival as compared with the standard procedure and was associated with higher morbidity and mortality. Full SWOG S1011 trial results: nej.md/4dBI8UN

As our patient advocate for myeloma for a decade, @JackMAiello also had a huge impact helping @SWOG integrate advocate experience and expertise into all stages of clinical trial design, development, and execution. His wisdom, wit, and warmth will be greatly missed.
Sad that cancer took another great human being and amazing myeloma patient advocate. @JackMAiello was an amazing advocate & we were fortunate to have him for many years as a @SWOG patient advocate. My condolences to his family & our grattitude for all he did.
