Here's some tips on how to stay safe during high winds: • It’s best to stay indoors during high winds. • If you must drive, keep a safe distance away from other vehicles. Strong wind gusts may blow vehicles off-course. Also, stay clear of box trucks, RVs and other large trucks since they are susceptible to high winds. • Stay clear of downed power lines. Avoid anything that may be touching a downed power line including tree branches and vehicles. Also, call 911 and your local energy company to report downed power lines. • Avoid parking near large trees that could fall on your car. Wherever your travels take you, a basic car emergency kit is essential. Be prepared for the unexpected by keeping these items in your vehicle: a first aid kit, water, a flashlight, reflective safety items, jumper cables and tow straps, a map, portable charger, and blankets. Having these basics on hand helps you stay safe until help arrives or conditions improve. 🚗🛠️🔦 #CarSafety #EmergencyKit #NationalPreparednessMonth
