Before this week, I had never seen a bloody, violent, unsolicited murder in almost real time. This week I’ve seen two.
There is something deeply evil and rotten with a society where people devalue human life at its core - Erode the feeling of safety for humans living their day to day lives or speaking their mind.
It isn’t ok and regardless of politics or race, if you aren’t haunted by that this evening, you’re part of the problem.

Charlie Kirk just went around debating college kids who had likely never heard a viewpoint outside the narrow ones they had been taught. He used words, ideas, that’s it. And someone found this so threatening that they decided to kill him for it.

I didn't know Charlie personally. But he did send me a kind message last year. "I love all people" is what he said. If that is any indication of who the man was, then this country has lost someone special today.
Partisan politics did not stand in the way of him paying me a compliment, and it should not stand in the way of mourning him either.
We cannot become a society where expressing political views, even controversial ones, leads to violence. Whatever you think of his politics, Charlie was a decent man, a patriot, and a brave defender of his values. My heart goes out to his wife and his kids.

Charlie Kirk changed my life.
I attended Turning Point USA's Young Black Leadership Summit in October 2018. I was 14 at the time but Charlie told me it didn't matter how young I was, I could fight alongside him in this movement.
From then on, I attended every Turning Point Conference every year. From 2018 to 2025.
I grew up in this movement. I became the person I am today because of the inspiration from Charlie Kirk and his organization.
I will never be the same without him, and this country will never be the same either.
He was a husband, a father, a man of God, and a visionary for our nation.

On my first day at BU, a colleague took me to lunch & said: “Do you know what the real miracle of your hire is? You’re a white male. Do you know how much better than every other candidate you have to be to get hired here as a white man?" I couldn't believe he'd said it out loud.
