Unlike most Black R&B girl groups, they had direction, budget, a sound. The issue? They lost their A&R Shakir Stewart 🕊️ right before their album dropped. And everyone knows your A&R is your golden key at the label or your worst nightmare. Shakir was the perfect A&R. ER delivered a timeless masterpiece for a debut album. We never got Vol. 2 of their album and they never even officially disbanded. Losing Shakir just unraveled everything. BUT, almost 17 years later, they remain one of the greatest girl groups of all time. If you’re unfamiliar with their album, change that.
