Not French, but you're speaking to a political people who don't care about the product, only what that product can do for them.
Whether any of the anime protagonists named would actually endorse what they do is irrelevant. They'll corrupt the interpretation of those characters until it does, then claim that is the only interpretation that matters.
You're likely wasting your time on them. They're vultures, nothing more.
Like clockwork, the very first quote tweets I see are of the retards disrespecting the country that gave them the art they used as a pretext to ruin people's lives.
They don't care about the shows beyond what they think they can gain from it. That's all it is, and all it's ever going to be.
One Piece is nothing more than a convenient excuse to destroy for these retards.
If it didn't exist, they'd have just hijacked something else.
But in all seriousness, the reaction from Japanese One Piece fans to people using the Straw Hat Jolly Roger in protests has been genuinely pissing me off. So many of them are more concerned about people bringing One Piece into real-life politics, calling it dangerous rhetoric and worrying that the series could get banned in certain countries, than they are about WHY people are even using it in the first place.
And I think this perfectly highlights the disconnect between Japanese fans and international fans. For some of them, One Piece is a manga they love and want to protect from controversy. For a lot of us, its themes of oppression, corruption, government tyranny and the fight for freedom hit a little closer to home. Some of us have lived through these things. Some of us have watched our families and loved ones suffer and die because of corrupt governments and injustice.
They can afford to treat these themes as fiction because they don’t necessarily have to relate them to their own reality. But when people who have experienced these things firsthand see the Straw Hat flag as a symbol of resistance and freedom, why is they’re first reaction to police how other fans use it rather than understand why it resonates with them in the first place?
And that’s what bothers me. Instead of trying to understand why people from completely different backgrounds see themselves in this story, they’re dismissing it as dangerous political rhetoric that might get one piece banned in these countries
They don't care about One Piece – or any other medium in existence – insofar as what it can do for their destructive behaviors.
They'll learn just enough about it to deliberately misinterpret it, and use the misinterpretation to shut down debate against anyone who knows less about it than they do.
They'll run and block like cowards if someone who does disagrees, and concern troll whenever the people responsible for making the thing they bastardized says what they used their work for was wrong.
The most annoying fucking people in the world, and it is not even a lightyear close.
The number of people I see being dishonest about this game -- from the time they spend on Mags and Reyes, what the former was written to be, and on whether or not this game is making its money back -- is a big reason why I never bother to join the communities of game franchises I might like.
Almost every single one of them is dominated by jackasses who will deny the rot until it consumes them.
The same play was made for Saints Row 2022 when it dropped, and all it did was kill Volition. BioWare is on thin ice after Veilguard. And I fully expect their "return to form" is going to do the same thing E-Day did, whenever the next Mass Effect game drops.
And the people involved in those communities will probably still run cover for it.
Laura Fryer, former Xbox executive and executive producer of the original Gears of War games, has criticized Gears of War: E-Day for taking too much of the spotlight away from Marcus and Dom.
“I was excited for Gears of War E-Day, to learn the origin story of young Marcus and Dom, and then I played.”
Fryer says the game is fun and that the shooting “felt like Gears,” but she noticed that many of the campaign’s biggest hero moments are given to other members of Bravo Squad.
Fryer says that moving the focus away from Marcus and Dom and toward new squad members “kills the feeling of comradeship and brotherhood” that the original games had.
She is right you know

Once you see that the people dismissing Tesla are the same kinds of people running our cultural institutions, the decline of those institutions over the past 10 years makes a lot more sense.
“Arrêtez! C’est pas la cause!”
Watch this. Then watch it again. Carve it into your memory.
The stunned look. The way she tries to reason with savages. The way she still deludes herself about what the “cause” actually is.
In a few days, leftists will start rewriting this into something noble, a just expression of a righteous cause. The looting and destruction will be reframed as resistance.
“Ce n’est pas la cause”. But it is the cause, my simple French lady.
Did you really think this was about textbooks? The leftist media, teachers, activists, and politicians who lied to you never did.
“The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.”
And that revolution is hatred and destruction in action.
You’d expect people who don’t understand this to finally get it when it happens to them. She probably won’t.
Accepting the truth would mean reevaluating everything she was taught about multiculturalism, leftism, egalitarianism, immigration, and coexistence. It would mean admitting that much of what she was told was racist, bigoted, fascist, and xenophobic was actually just reality.
Most people can’t carry that weight. So they’ll rationalize it away, blame a few bad individuals, insist the values are still noble, and move on. They’re wrong, but it’s easier than admitting the ideology produces this.

Some of y’all didn’t raise honest kids. You raised kids who learned how to hide things from you.
If your child is scared to tell you the truth because they already know your anger is gonna be worse than the problem, that is not respect. That is fear.
Correct them. Discipline them. Hold them accountable.
But make sure home is still the safest place they can bring the ugly truth.
Because one day, what they are afraid to tell you might be the very thing they need you to save them from.
Fear makes kids hide. Trust makes kids come home.
Took a while, but at some point a long time ago, I understood why people telling you to "Just go with it" during jarring narrative changes in stories was malicious at heart.
It's to prep you into making statements like this.
Everything I've seen about Avatar past Aang has been people running cover for Korra's behavior and actions, or the creators of the show apparently creating narratives to run cover for Korra's behavior and actions.
If you're spending this kind of effort on vindicating a disliked character - *especially* after the fact - the notion that these people got lucky with the Avatar: The Last Airbender gets gradually stronger.
I'm calling it now. They could completely clear Korra's name, even have Pavi restore the connection to the past lives and have Aang himself tell Korra that the cataclysm and her uncle destroying her connection to the past Avatars wasn't her fault and that there was nothing she could've done to prevent this and yet toxic Aang fans would still blame her for literally everything
I wrote the above having forgotten that the reception of this show was like this. This is exactly what I'm talking about.
xitter.cf/LookAtMyMeat1/status/2…
Hilariously, the reality is the inverse.
If the art you make does not toe the line with the communist dictators that "allowed" you to make it, that art is destroyed.
And you along with it.
I've seen enough posts like these to know it's just the status they believe comes with a marriage that they want. Specifically, the status these particular women have among their own in group.
It's more so about creating the idea that you can have it all than it is about honoring any actual obligations that come from getting it all.
I assume it's why so many of them divert to the quoted line when it gets brought up that it would be assumed that you loved the man you married enough to contribute to creating the family he thought you wanted.
But if you use that line, or any like it, you create the assumption that you didn't love him at all, just what you thought your contract could get out of him.

So you're telling me that the writers could have the narrative say something and people whose opinions don't come from the narrative would not agree with the narrative?!?

Can’t relate
Replying to @GriftGod_
It's making a mockery of you because you also have black skin. They post crime stats acting like every one of us are criminals and you can't see how this is a bad look? You ain't above it just because you put on a hat like them and tap dance my nigga.
The casting alone made me think it was going this route.
Street Fighter, like Masters of the Universe, is a movie that is embarassed of its source material.
It is plagued in millennial, ironic, reddit humor that refuses for even a moment to be sincere.
Every single man is emasculated. There is boot licking. There are pervert men who get kicked in the balls; many men are kicked in the balls. The film is rife with self deprication.
"It's for the fans" is a lie, this is a grift with fight choreography.
Guile is great and Cody Rhodes is wasted on this film.
Ryu's actor thinks he's doing a Mr. Miyagi parody and whispers every line of dialogue.
Ken is robbed of an emotional arc because the movie really hates him for some reason.
I wanted to do a review video tonight and go live, but frankly - I'm tired, boss. I'm tired of every piece of media either hating the property being adapted or too cowardly to give the property the sincerity it deserves.
