A very good boy may have just earned his place in the church choir. During Mass at The Grotto’s annual Blessing of the Animals on Sept. 20, one husky couldn’t resist joining in when the music began. In a now-viral video filmed by attendee Blanca Gallardo, the pup lets out a series of enthusiastic howls as a priest sings — prompting the priest to walk over and hold a microphone near the furry vocalist. The moment has become an internet hit, with the Instagram Reel drawing 7.1 million views and 741,000 likes. The husky’s owner and identity were not initially known, though Gallardo said she attended the blessing with her own dog, Phoebe. The clip’s comments quickly turned the impromptu duet into a heavenly punchline. One viewer, @kindsi, wrote: “The priest sang, ‘all creatures of our God and King, lift up your voice and let us sing’ and the husky said ‘HaleAWOOOOOyah!’” Honestly, the dog was just following directions. The Blessing of the Animals took place at 3:30 p.m. in The Grotto Plaza. The annual event welcomes people and pets of all faiths and celebrates the “joy, beauty, love, fidelity, encouragement and comfort” that animal companions bring into people’s lives. And if this dog had anything to say about it, that comfort apparently comes with a powerful set of lungs. Today, on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, it seems only right that one enthusiastic husky reminded everyone at Mass that all creatures are invited to lift up their voices, even if that voice is an awe-inspiring “awoooo.” Read more at Churchpop.com! ✍🏻 Claudette Jerez 📹: IG @divine_phoebe

Sharing a post 🙏🥹🐾🐕‍🦺 On September 11, 2001, dogs served in different ways across the World Trade Center disaster — searching rubble, detecting danger, and guiding people through smoke-filled stairwells to safety. Apollo, an NYPD German Shepherd, searched the ruins of Ground Zero alongside rescue crews. Bretagne, a young Golden Retriever with Texas Task Force 1, worked through dust, twisted steel, and devastation. Years later, she became widely remembered as the last known surviving 9/11 search-and-rescue dog. Jake, a black Labrador who had once been abandoned and badly injured, grew up to become a certified search-and-rescue dog. After 9/11, he spent days working through the wreckage at Ground Zero. Sirius, a Port Authority Police yellow Labrador trained to detect explosives, was inside the World Trade Center that morning. His handler, Officer David Lim, secured him before rushing to help others evacuate. Lim survived. Sirius did not. He became known as the only police dog killed in the 9/11 attacks. And then there were Roselle and Salty. They weren’t searching the rubble. They were guide dogs. Roselle helped her blind handler, Michael Hingson, escape from the 78th floor of the North Tower. Salty helped his blind handler, Omar Rivera, descend from the 71st floor. Through darkness, noise, fear, crowded stairwells, and chaos, they kept moving. Six dogs. Six very different stories. Search dogs. Police dogs. Guide dogs. None of them knew the meaning of terrorism. None understood why that morning had changed America forever. They simply did what they had been trained to do — and stayed beside the people who depended on them. More than two decades later, their names still deserve to be remembered. Apollo. Bretagne. Jake. Sirius. Roselle. Salty. They searched. They guided. They served. Never forget September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸🐾 #September11 #911 #NeverForget #GroundZero #SearchAndRescue #K9 #GuideDogs #HeroDogs #Apollo #Bretagne #Jake #Sirius #Roselle #Salty

This must be the pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow...or maybe it's what is waiting for us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Either way, it must be Heaven.

After this performance the band did an interview saying this was the best performance they have ever done. Just this song. Everyone was on cue. Perfect. Not a note missed by anyone. Pitch. Tone. Timing. All perfect. They said they never performed this good ever before. And you can clearly tell.❤️🎶 Fleetwood Mac – Everywhere

"1:03 AM. Our camera caught Buddy sleeping with something that isn't even his... It's one of our son's old t-shirts, forgotten in the laundry pile weeks ago. We found Buddy curled around it on the couch, paw draped over it like he was protecting it. He sleeps with it almost every night now. He can't call his best friend. He can't check a phone to see when he's coming home. All Buddy has is a piece of fabric that still smells like him — and somehow, that's enough to bring him comfort. We didn't teach him to do this. He just... started. The night after our son left, actually. If your dog has ever held onto something that reminds them of someone they miss, you know this kind of love doesn't need words. Drop a ❤️ for Buddy tonight.

She's been at our shelter since 2013. Eleven years. Every person who met her said she was wonderful. Every person walked past her kennel and chose a younger dog. She stopped coming to the front of her kennel a few years ago. Stopped performing. Made a quiet peace with being where she was." Last Tuesday a veteran came in. He said — "I need a calm dog. I'm still learning how to be still myself." I showed him three dogs. He was putting his jacket on to leave. He stopped outside kennel seven. Luna looked at him from her bed. Didn't perform. Didn't come to the front. Just looked at him the way she looks at people when she decides they're worth seeing. He said — "Can I sit with her?" He sat on the concrete floor at her level. Not the bench. The floor. That was 11am. At 3pm I looked in. He was still there. Her white muzzle was in his hand. Their breathing had synchronized. At 3:15 he came to the front desk and said — "I'd like to take her home. I think we need each other." I excused myself to the back room and sat on an overturned bucket and cried for a long time. He texted me yesterday — "First time I've slept through the night in three years. I think she was saving that for me." She was. Eleven years of saving it. For one Tuesday. For him. Drop a ❤️ for Luna. Share this for every senior dog still waiting for their Tuesday. They're saving everything they have for the right person to walk through that door.

At an aquarium in South Korea, after closing time, some clever little otter pups help their grandpa tidy up their toys. As a reward, he gives them ice cubes
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This video is from Toba Aquarium in Japan, not South Korea. It shows adult sea otters Mei (~20 years old) and Kira (~17 years old) trained to pick up toys as enrichment, rewarded with ice by longtime keeper "otter grandpa." english.kyodonews.net/articles/-/538… youtube.com/watch?v=qDMIAp…

As we start our week, law nerds, let's all remember our lesson from the Chief Justice: “It’s a new world, but it’s the same Constitution.”

There was an incredibly telling exchange between Chief Justice John Roberts and the solicitor general. “We’re in a new world,” Sauer said, because “eight billion people are one plane ride away from having a child who is a U.S. citizen.” Chief Justice Roberts’s retort was perfect — “Well, it’s a new world,” he said, but “it’s the same constitution.” In that one moment you saw the contrast between the MAGA legal philosophy and the legal philosophy of most of the justices. MAGA wants specific results, the justices interpret texts. And when MAGA’s argument contradicts the constitutional text, it’s almost always going to lose — as it has lost time and again before this court. nytimes.com/2026/04/03/opini…
