With the opening of our Cherry Street branch growing closer and closer, we're looking back at the very first time we built a new branch: Oregon in 1981, back when we were known as Tol-Sun Credit Union!
These first two photographs were taken shortly after the branch was opened, finished after nearly a year of construction. When you compare it to the original scale model of the branch, it's clear they did a pretty good job following the brief!
This week's Throwback Thursday is special, because it's also the 78th International Credit Union Day!

Today we're looking back at one of our original spaces in the basement of the Sun Oil refinery! Prior to the construction of our first brick-and-mortar location in Oregon (right beside the refinery!) in 1981, the credit union operated on-site in basement offices like these.
Today's throwback is a shout-out to the good old-fashioned drive-thru! There's not much more iconic than the tubes used in the far lane, also known as pneumatic tubes—which were actually invented around 1799.
