As usual, new basho, spoiler alert:
During honbasho I may arbitrarily tweet or retweet results and match videos. If you dislike spoilers, please unfollow / mute for the duration of the basho (or on a daily basis), and remember to re-follow / unmute at the end of the basho!
Both in Makuuchi now!
Asakoryu and Asasuiryu got new kesho-mawashi from Meitoku High School, each in his shikona's color.
But... @hellogeri couldn't resist, and neither can I 😁 .
Short documentary about Aonishiki, narrated by the man himself.

Once again Wakatakakage has met serious injury. Here is my (human) translation of one of the articles, from Sports Hochi - in Google Docs, since it's a bit long for this platform.

I'm sure you heard by know that Onosato and Aonishiki will be absent. I'll just go crawl into a corner and cry.
Fresh episode of "Dosukoi Sumo Salon" - "The New Wave". Pretty up-to-date.

Here is that translation of the JSA's report regarding the Isegahama/Hakunofuji scandal. My take is at the end of the document.

The Isegahama violence report is out. I'll try to create a full translation later, but short points:
* Hakunofuji was drunk and fondled a lady's thigh. It appears this is not the first time.

Midorifuji will be kyujo during Haru basho. He is being treated for his heart failure, expected to be absent for about a month.
Hakunofuji will participate in the basho.

Isegahama oyakata suspended for the duration of Haru Basho, as the investigation of the violence case continues. This is a temporary measure, not a final punishment. He is still allowed to coach.

Apparently, the Isegahama issue is going to be discussed in the board meeting on March 6th. This article speculates, based on prior cases, that the punishment will not be decided before Haru basho.

More details coming out in the Isegahama scandal.
Apparently it happened in a drinking party with supporters, just before moving to Osaka. Isegahama got angry at Hakunofuji for something unrelated to sumo, and brandished a sake bottle at him.

Enho revealed to the press that, during his 6th match in Hatsu Basho, he broke his left ankle in two places. He has not started practicing sumo for Haru basho yet.

Isegahama oyakata (Fmr Y Terunofuji) called a press conference today before morning practice, revealing he has done an "act of violence" on Hakunofuji. He did not elaborate, as he is awaiting JSA's conclusions/verdict.

This world is cursed, I want off.
Enho is at Makushita #4, with a good chance of finally making it back to sekitorihood if he gets a kachi-koshi in Haru Basho.

*Aonishiki*
Much praise went to the shin-Ozeki, who showed "Sumo standing on reliable basics", and withstood the pressure of the Ozeki rank respectably.

*Existing Yokozuna*
"A 10-5 result is regrettable, but given that they are not in good health and fought for the full 15 days, it clears the bare minimum of Yokozuna responsibility".
