Tonight, I broke fast with Muslim leaders from across Pennsylvania at the Governor’s Residence — our third Iftar since I became Governor.
I know the final 10 days of Ramadan carry a special significance for our Muslim neighbors who have been fasting, reflecting, and praying during this holy month, commemorating when the Quran was revealed to the prophet.
I also know that many of our Muslim neighbors are worried right now about the rise in hate and violence overseas and here at home. I want to be very clear: You belong here in Pennsylvania — and I’ll always protect your rights, defend your freedom to worship, and call out Islamophobia in all forms.

Pa governor Josh Shapiro stated he has the Muslims backs and gave them 5 million dollar grant in 2025! He visited the Islamic Society to announce a $5 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant for expanding the community center and mosque. The expansion includes adding 12 classrooms, a gym, and other community spaces. Shapiro described the center as the "center of the universe in this community" and stated: "I want the Muslim community to know that they are welcome here in Pennsylvania. They are warmly embraced in Pennsylvania, that I’ve got their back and I’m going to protect them.

American surgeon records herself doing a “peer to peer” call with UnitedHealthcare trying to get a patients surgery approved
- UnitedHealthcare refuses to give any of their doctors names who makes decisions
- The doctor doesn’t specialize in surgery that’s being requested
- She asks for the determination paperwork of how UnitedHealthcare determined the patient shouldn’t get the surgery, UnitedHealthcare won’t provide that information
- UnitedHealthcare tells the surgeon to do an “internal appeal” but won’t provide any details on their determination
So to recap: UnitedHealthcare denies patients, their surgeon calls and can’t get a name, a specialty, or any details whatsoever regarding the denial
