Pat understood something every great coach, parent, teacher and leader eventually learns: people are more open to being challenged when they know they are genuinely cared for.

Pat knew that a team takes its cues from its leader.
When the pressure rises, people are watching more than what you say. They’re watching how you respond, how you carry yourself and whether you still believe.
That lesson reaches far beyond basketball. Coaches, parents, teachers and leaders all help set the tone for the people around them.
What kind of tone are you setting today? 🧡

A lot of us know what we want to change. The hard part is knowing where to start…and then actually following through.
Here’s a look at how Summitt Mindset helps. You tell Coach Pat who you want to become and what you’re working toward. She helps you turn it into one realistic action you can take each day, checks in by text and gives you a place to see every win you’re building along the way.
You don’t need to have the whole plan figured out. You just need a first step and someone in your corner to help you keep going🧡

Setting a goal is only the beginning. Pat believed that when her players got off track, you brought them back to the goal, reevaluated it and found the next step forward. I think we all need that sometimes! A reminder of where we’re headed and a little help figuring out what to do next🧡 What goal are you working toward right now?

Pat never asked people to be perfect. She asked them to take an honest look at themselves and find one way they could be a little better.
Not better than someone else…better than their own personal best.
What’s one thing you could do a little better today?

Sometimes people just need someone to believe in them before they can fully believe in themselves.
A coach. A parent. A teacher. A coworker. A leader. A teammate. A friend.
Your belief in someone can give them the confidence to keep going, take the next step and see something in themselves they may not be able to see yet. Never underestimate what your encouragement can do for another person🧡
And if you could use a little encouragement yourself, that’s why we created Summitt Mindset! To make Pat’s lessons and wisdom available when you need them and help you become the best version of yourself!
Try Summitt Mindset today and see if it can help you too 💙🧡

Fear can stop you before you ever get started. Pat’s message was simple: Go for it! You might fail. You might not get it right the first time. But you’ll never know what you’re capable of if you let fear make the decision for you.
Take the chance. Give it a shot. Go for it. 🧡

Today we remember Dolly Parton and the incredible legacy she leaves behind🤍🧡
Pat was always proud of Dolly and everything she accomplished. They were two Tennessee women who came from humble beginnings, worked incredibly hard and became legends in completely different worlds. Even with all of their success, they never forgot where they came from or the people around them.
Dolly’s legacy goes so far beyond music. She gave back, opened doors, brought joy to millions and used her success to make a difference in the lives of other people. She made Tennessee proud and her impact will be felt for generations. 🤍🦋🧡

It’s pretty special to hear Pat Summitt talk about growing the game all these years later! She knew that the more people had a chance to see women’s basketball, the more they would understand how exciting and special it really was. And now, seeing how much the game continues to grow, her words mean even more! She cared deeply about leaving the game better than she found it🤍🧡

Pat Summitt’s grandkids watched Lisa Soland bring their Grammy’s life to the stage in “Pat” the play.
They laughed, they listened, and they experienced pieces of her story in a way only live theater can bring to life.
For Tyler, it was incredibly moving to sit beside his children and watch his mom’s story honored with such heart, strength, and care!
They also had the chance to meet the Tennessee women’s basketball team and Coach Kim Caldwell!
Thank you, Lisa, for not just telling Pat’s story but honoring the woman, the mother, the coach, and the legacy🤍🧡
For the first time, Pat Summitt’s grandkids stepped inside the Lady Vol facilities...the locker room, the practice court, and the place where so much of their Grammy’s legacy was built! They laughed, ran the floor, shot baskets, and experienced a small piece of the place that meant so much to her🧡
Pat Summitt’s grandkids walked through the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame for the first time and saw Grammy’s story on the walls. They’ve heard the stories. Today, they got to see the legacy🧡
Pat Summitt’s grandkids visit Tennessee to learn more about their Grammy’s story...the places, the people, and the legacy she left behind.
We’ll be sharing more videos from their journey over the next few days, so follow along with us. 🧡
Pat Summitt didn’t teach people to be okay with losing.
She taught them to own it, learn from it, and come back better.
Losing should bother you...but it shouldn’t break you. Let it sharpen you.
That mindset still applies today.
What’s one loss that made you better?
Before the championships, the banners, and the legacy… there was a beginning.
Pat Summitt’s story is such a powerful reminder that greatness doesn’t usually start big. It starts with a love for something, people who believe in you, and the willingness to keep showing up.
Every legacy starts somewhere. 🧡
Who saw something in you before you saw it in yourself?
10 losses.
A season that could have slipped away.
A team that had already been tested again and again.
But Tennessee kept showing up.
The 1996–97 Lady Vols didn’t take the perfect road to a national championship...they took the hard one.
And maybe that’s what makes this team so unforgettable.
They responded to pressure.
They trusted the work.
They stayed together.
And when the moment came, they finished.
Back-to-back national champions.
The lesson still hits today:
You don’t have to be perfect to finish strong.
You just have to keep showing up when it gets hard.
Do you remember watching this championship run?
