There is something deeply wrong with a political system that allows one trillionaire to buy his own personal U.S. Senator.

Canada Holds the Line: Prime Minister Carney Stays Firm as Trump Calls Under Midterm Pressure- Prime Minister Carney and Trump held a lengthy phone call this morning to tackle pressing trade issues. The timing of the call is highly critical, with the U.S. midterm elections just weeks away. This upcoming vote puts immense pressure on the American administration, making the president’s sudden outreach look like a move to lock down a deal. Observers note that control of Congress and the Senate are at stake, which could completely reshape the president's political agenda and future trade negotiations. ...despite the intense urgency coming from Washington, Canada is refusing to back down. Canadian leadership has established a rock-solid stance, making it perfectly clear that they will NOT be rushed into a bad agreement. In fact, Ottawa has already stated that if the deal does not directly benefit Canadians, they are fully prepared to walk away from the table entirely once again. The president initiating this 'long' discussion highlights just how much pressure his administration feels as election day closes in. Apparently, while both leaders covered several key trade topics, Canada’s refusal to budge shows that our government holds the REAL leverage. This conversation perfectly highlights Canada's strong, patient approach to protecting its economic independence against a rushed American administration. Canada and Canadians will come first in this. 🇨🇦 We have the right government to put us ahead of anything else. Especially this administration. Stay strong, Canada. 🇨🇦 #canpoli #cdnpoly #Midterms #Canada #MAGA #Republicans #trump

BREAKING: George W. Bush's brother Neil just dropped a BOMB on MAGA by proudly announcing that he voted for James Talarico in the Texas Senate race. This just gave Republicans a flashing green light to vote blue... "I have never posted a political message on Facebook not wanting to offend friends whose views may be very different than mine. I'm breaking that tradition because I voted early today, and I voted for James Talarico for the United States Senate," Bush, the child of the late President George H.W. Bush wrote on Facebook. "My vote was motivated by two things: deep concern about Ken Paxton's record and genuine admiration for the character and principles I see in James Talarico," he continued. "I have been deeply troubled by Paxton's conduct as Texas Attorney General, particularly his decision to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election in other states in an effort to help Donald Trump remain in power. I believe that effort was an affront to our democratic institutions and the peaceful transfer of power. My concerns about his judgment and conduct are hardly mine alone. He was impeached by the Republican-controlled Texas House, although subsequently acquitted by the Texas Senate." "More broadly, I believe Donald Trump and those who have enabled him have done enormous damage to the Republican Party. I worry about a political culture in which loyalty to an individual takes precedence over loyalty to principle, and where those who hold power begin to believe they are no longer accountable." "But my vote today was about much more than opposition to Ken Paxton." "I've never met James Talarico, but I have been enormously impressed by the way he approaches complicated and controversial issues. He speaks with respect, seeks common ground, and seems genuinely interested in bringing people together rather than driving them apart. His faith appears to be a deeply rooted source of humility, compassion, and conviction rather than a political weapon." I see in him the qualities I admire most in public servants: integrity, civility, humility, and a willingness to listen to those with whom he disagrees. My impression is that he is a principled, pragmatic leader who understands that public office is a responsibility to serve, not an entitlement to power." "I have been a Republican for most of my life, and I still believe deeply in many traditional Republican principles. But character matters more than party affiliation. Our democracy depends on leaders who respect our institutions, tell the truth, accept accountability, and seek to unite rather than divide." "Today, I voted against a style of politics that I believe has damaged our country. More importantly, I voted for the kind of character and leadership I hope will help heal it," he concluded. Bravo, Mr. Bush! We commend you for speaking out boldly during these crucial midterm elections. Ken Paxton is a stone-cold crook who was impeached for bribery by his own party as state attorney general. He has zero interest in serving the people of Texas if he wins and will instead work to line his own pockets, accumulate personal power, and rubber-stamp Trump's destructive agenda. Meanwhile, James Talarico is a devout Christian who is committed to fighting for better healthcare, an end to pointless wars, livable wages, more housing construction to restore the American Dream, and banning Congressional stock trading. The Bush family still wields a great deal of influence in Texas, so this announcement is sure to cause political shockwaves. If you're a Republican who genuinely loves this country, it's time to cross the aisle and vote for James Talarico. Please ❤️ and share to thank Neil Bush!

Bill Clinton on Mark Carney: I'm tired of treating our allies like they're dirt. The prime minister of Canada has been a friend of mine for a long time. We got to know each other having virtually nothing to do with politics. He's about the most well-qualified leader in the world. He's been head of the banks of both the UK and Canada. And we have the gall to suggest that they should become the 51st state.

IHere's what Pres.Trump has done for Vladimir Putin since 2017: 🇺🇸➡️🇷🇺 First term 1Stood next to Putin in Helsinki and took his word over U.S. intelligence 2Lobbied to bring Russia back into the G7 3Withheld military aid from Ukraine to squeeze Zelensky (impeachment #1) 4Pulled out of Syria, handing Russia a freer hand 5Openly questioned NATO's mutual-defense pledge 6Lifted sanctions on Deripaska-linked companies, including Rusal 7Walked away from the INF nuclear treaty 8Walked away from the Open Skies treaty, leaving our European allies with less visibility 🇺🇸➡️🇷🇺 Second term
9. Called Russia's G7 expulsion a "mistake"
10. Declared Moscow "holds all the cards"
11. Opened talks with Russia with zero preconditions
12. Berated Zelensky in the Oval Office, then paused aid and intel to Ukraine
13. Halted offensive cyber operations against Russia
14. Had the U.S. vote WITH Russia against a UN resolution condemning the invasion
15. Said "Crimea will stay with Russia"
16. Rolled out the red carpet for Putin in Alaska
17. Pressed Ukraine, not Russia, to give up territory 18. Starshield 19. Diesel 20. Revoke Graham sanctions That's not "America First." You could never make that list of things a President has done for Zelensky, or for NATO. Ask yourself why.

Finishing touches ahead of this evening’s State Banquet… ✨   Tonight, The King and Queen will host a State Banquet for the Sultan of Oman at Windsor Castle.   ☕️ Inspired by the Omani ritual of Kahwa, a collection of special teas will be served.   While Kahwa is traditionally a spiced coffee, the concept has been adapted to draw on the long-standing British love of tea while preserving the aromatic spices and flavours that make Kahwa so distinctive: fragrant cardamom, delicate rose, sweet dates, and gentle warming spices.   Guests will be invited to choose from an Iced Earl Grey & Date, an Iced Mint & Rose, or a Warm Cardamom-Spiced Blend sweetened with Windsor Honey.   Together, they reflect the warmth and hospitality shared by both Omani and British traditions. 🇬🇧🇴🇲

Italy's Meloni on protests & penalties: If, during a march or demonstration, you join a group of five or more people and start throwing stones, firecrackers, sticks... you risk up to five years in prison and a fine of up to €20,000. You break it, you pay for it. And if the person who breaks it is a minor, their parents pay. The parents of that kid who had fun smashing everything will have to pay. An additional 500 military personnel will arrive in Milan by the end of the year to support the police and Carabinieri. We will do everything we can to prevent what we have seen in recent days from becoming the new normal. The youngest of the youths identified in Milan was reportedly just 11 years old. 11 years old. It hurts, and it is scary. There is nothing revolutionary about causing devastation and stealing. Devastating and stealing is not a protest, it is criminality.

Tuemme Ukrainaa. Tänään otimme askeleen eteenpäin kohti kestävää ja oikeudenmukaista rauhaa. Kuva: Pavlo Yurkin

I'm speechless.
Yesterday, we all saw the video of Kostiantyn Vlasenko, a Ukrainian Defender from the 30th Brigade, being evacuated by drone from a position on the left bank of the Oskil River in the Kupiansk sector, Kharkiv region. I was deeply impacted by the video and his interview. After being seriously wounded in February, Kostiantyn lost one leg. Several months later, when gangrene set in, he had to amputate his other leg himself. Throughout all of this, he continued to hold the position alone. Several attempts to evacuate him by land had failed, so different units of Ukraine's Defense Forces came together to rescue Kostiantyn. I'm speechless.
