As a prophetic community, Christians should celebrate @POTUS decision to recognize the Armenian Genocide, while also calling for the US to boldly condemn and confront China for its present horrific mistreatment of Uighur Muslims.

Jesus was not a white, American man.
The U.S. flag is not a symbol for the Church or for Jesus.
The National Anthem is not a holy hymn.
Slavery was not a “necessary evil” to build empire and to “bring” Africans to Jesus.
Plus, Africa has long-known and welcomed Christ Jesus.

We chop the barrel, heat it in the forge, split it open, and beat it into a shovel. And my pal Greg is now making the shovel handles from the wooden gun stock. All things can be made new.

Maybe plucking Bible verses out of context, using them to support whatever ideologies we are currently propagating, and then claiming our interpretation is the "plain reading" of Scripture has been the real liberalism all along.

The Republicans say that we cannot afford to invest in health care, education, housing, nutrition and the basic needs of working families. I say that we cannot afford to give trillions in tax breaks to the rich and large corporations and spend $740 billion a year on the military.

It’s not too late for a new start. It may be scary as heck. But it’s not too late. I find that, over & over in this pilgrimage home, Jesus finds one way or another to scribble a question in the dirt: “Do you trust me? Then follow me.” But where are you going, Lord? “Come & see.”

Christians often have macho views of what it means to be an overcomer. Being beheaded for preaching bodily to the pagans and so forth. For many, however, its more like dying of cancer without losing faith and cursing God. Overcoming is always done in weakness, not strength.
