I like them! But only as part of a wider exploration of many other types of numerals. Roman numeral fractions can be a neat way of showing alternative fraction numerals. Etymology too, 'uncia' fraction --> inch, ounce. 'Semis' as half.

Turns, with the operation 'followed-by'?
Eg a rotation of +60° followed-by a rotation of +300°.
Enlargements, with the operation 'combined-with'?
Eg 'enlarge by sf 4, centre C', combined with 'enlarge by sf 0.25, centre C'⁰

I did something similar but as a semi abstract version. I wrote about it here including using the mathsbot visuals.

I've just spent a little time adding some content to taylorda01.weebly.com, specifically on the 'Stories' page (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, remarkable prime numbers, a festive activity, Frobenius numbers, and Lagrange's Four Square Theorem).
Any more to be added?

Each year I look for more ways to link functions to input/output.
This year I focused on my questioning. “What does this function DO to the input?”
Ss: “Squares it, then adds 6,” for instance.
Will certainly use this - love the focus on useful outputs linked to prior knowledge.
How often do we talk about functions having useful outputs?
It's easy to "teach" functions without actually teaching what a function is for. This task might help.

In January, I published a book designed to help teachers and school leaders with every aspect of teaching reading.
It's much better than anything else I've ever done.
If you want the key ideas from this book without reading it, the blog below is the place to look.

10 blue points and 10 red points on a page.
Must there be a straight line across the page that separates them into 5 of each color on each side?

Cover Lessons should be easy for someone else to set for you. I’m fed up of hearing horrific stories of teachers in hospital emailing in work. I’m on a mission and would love your feedback on these KS4 Unit cover / revision lessons. Video to accompany. hannahkettlemaths.co.uk/cove…

Row g is interesting. It’s the only one without a unique solution, a = ? and b = ?
Not only could we ask what are the possible values, but why the combination of sum and product lead to ambiguity, when the others don’t.
